guys, this a complete scam, it is being fed with multiple samples in an alphabetical order and its just does a backend search which isnt visible to the user, basically a rompler but you cant browse through whole library 🤣

Pretty much feels that way in terms what happens behind the scene which I talked about in the outro. But it wouldn't necessarily make it a scam. Whether what you get is worth it or not that's for the individual to I guess decide on.

@@7ars471 GPT means. Generative Pre-training Transformer. All of the ads on Instagram etc heavily imply that it generates the sounds from scratch which it doesn’t. You are getting something else than what you wanted that’s a scam.

the way you know it's ai or presets : when you tried your female choir group and played 2 octaves, the speed of the sequence notes changed to faster on higher notes, that means what the software did was convert the sequence into an audio file and made it a sample, and when you play a higher note it pitches the note, (without warp ) which leads to the speed of the audio changing, but this can also mean that it is searching from tagged audio files as well and no design is happening, or the AI has limited control over the synth , so when it gives you the sound to play it , it can only give it to you as an audio sample , and in this case, controlling the parameters of your sound is still a loooong shot in this synth

Yeah to be fair, we all kinda know what's happening. On my side, it was a creative decision to base the video around that question otherwise what you explained did come to mind early on & made sense.

of course it's a presets pool, which isn't a bad idea, the problem is to sell it as magic AI technology. When you try to fine tune your prompt and make it more specific, it just load another version of a same preset. So it's an inspiration tool but not a revolutionary tool even though I think soon there'll be real AI synth.

For me personally, it's almost useless until there are parameter controls. Probably really good for inspiration but it's like a thesaurus. It may get me close but I need to be able to manipulate it to give me meaning. I can't remember the last time I used a stock sound without needing to turn the dials.

Bought it and messed with it for awhile before canceling the subscription. Lots of buggy behaviour and I heard the same samples several times on different prompts.

So are the sound you buy when you get a library for serum. You can’t manipulate it but if it sounds good you can continue working on the project just so you have an idea of how it sounds.

Hope someone can help me with this. If I play a single note on the piano roll, for example a C, I get a "double" or "triple note" with different pitches. How can I set to play just a fucking C note? Thanks. 🤕

Took a subscription for a month and was initially very impressed that you could get sounds quickly but by working more. I came to the conclusion that it's not really AI but rather a huge database of sounds loaded onto a server, where it searches for words by style, sound type, mood. Why did I come to this conclusion? I set specific tasks, and it didn't deliver, it just took search keywords. I can't say anything bad about this system because it's a very good way to find sounds and use them in music production, but can I call it AI where sound is generated? No.

I do agree with what you say. The business model of subscription is kind of dodgy in the long run, but as you said it does depend from which perspective you're looking at it. Many plugin developers used to be or are musicians or producers themselves who now can make significantly more money compared one off sales. The whole thing came to existence partly because of the piracy scene.

It's just a bunch of one-shot samples. This has nothing to do with what a synthesizer does/can do. The name synthGPT is thus misleading. Synplant 2 CAN do the stuff that this 'a.i.' can't. Check it out.

I assume you did not watch the outro. But I did discuss exactly what you said. Synplant 2 is a great plugin too & I do use it. Overall the purpose of the stream & the video is sharing something I've been finding interesting and I have word that in the upcoming versions, we'll have features like Envelope & certain other things that could bring it closer to the name.

I guess it depends on your expectations from a plugin/synth/sample library & on what tools you already own & used to! Regardless, I hope the video did what it was supposed to, which was informing people about the tool & providing enough examples to make their mind up
