I'm a trained film maker with 30 years experience, and have been using AI for 6 months. I'm blown away by the coherence you achieve with your films. I've noticed that AI has real difficulty dealing with aeroplanes and jets in particular. For the most part yours have both detail and consistency. Anyway, fabulous stuff - your use of music and sound is always on point as well.
@RobinFaichney4 ай бұрын
@user-yp2mw2ko9k You're asking @AllanGildea but I'll have a go. People always look around them and tend to adopt common standards. These standards have slipped, as I guess you'd put it, over the last 60 years or so in "the developed world" as formality is valued less and relaxed informality has become more acceptable. People feel physically more comfortable in what you call an undershirt and I'd call a tee-shirt, and unlike in previous decades, they're not looked down on for wearing such things. In line with the AI origins of the video I'm going to paste something from ChatGPT here: The shift towards more generally acceptable informal attire in "the West" during the second half of the twentieth century can be attributed to a combination of cultural, social, and economic factors: ### 1. **Cultural Shifts** - **Youth Culture and Rebellion**: The 1960s and 1970s were marked by a cultural revolution driven largely by the youth, who rejected the conservative norms of their parents. This period saw the rise of countercultural movements, where informal and expressive clothing became a symbol of rebellion and individuality. Jeans, t-shirts, and other casual wear became popular as young people sought to distinguish themselves from the previous generation. - **Influence of Music and Media**: Music icons like The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and later, punk and rock bands, popularized casual and non-conformist styles. The media, including television and movies, also played a role in normalizing these styles by portraying them as cool and trendy. ### 2. **Economic and Technological Changes** - **Post-War Prosperity**: After World War II, there was an economic boom in many Western countries. With increased prosperity, people had more disposable income to spend on clothing, leading to greater experimentation with fashion. The mass production of clothing also made casual wear more affordable and accessible. - **Shift in Work Culture**: The rise of the technology sector and creative industries, particularly from the 1980s onwards, led to changes in workplace culture. The rigid, formal dress codes of the past were relaxed as companies like those in Silicon Valley promoted more casual and comfortable work environments. "Casual Fridays" became a common practice, further normalizing informal attire in professional settings. ### 3. **Social Movements** - **Civil Rights and Gender Equality**: The civil rights movement, feminist movement, and other social justice movements of the 1960s and 1970s challenged traditional societal norms, including those related to dress. There was a growing belief that people should not be judged by their appearance but by their actions and character, leading to a de-emphasis on formal dress codes. - **Globalization**: The increased interaction between different cultures also influenced fashion. Western societies began adopting styles from other parts of the world, which often included more relaxed and informal clothing. ### 4. **Evolving Fashion Industry** - **Designer Influence**: Fashion designers like Yves Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren, and others began incorporating elements of casual wear into their collections. The blurring of lines between formal and informal attire in high fashion further legitimized casual styles. - **Rise of Streetwear**: The 1980s and 1990s saw the rise of streetwear, a style influenced by skateboarding, hip-hop, and urban culture. Streetwear's emphasis on comfort and practicality appealed to a wide audience, further pushing the boundaries of what was considered acceptable attire. ### 5. **Technological Influence** - **Casual Tech Culture**: The rise of the tech industry in the late 20th century, particularly in Silicon Valley, popularized a casual dress code in workplaces. Companies like Apple, Google, and others became known for their relaxed work environments, where jeans and t-shirts were often the norm. This tech-driven casualization spread to other sectors as well. The confluence of these factors led to a broader acceptance of informal attire in various settings across Western societies by the end of the 20th century.
