The first 3 Syphon Filter games are a classic. Hearing this tune is not only nostalgic and it best represents Syphon Filter, but is among the best menu games to really get in the mood of the action. I'd love to have a Syphon Filter remaster. There's need to be a Syphon Filter comeback.

I recall all of my friends played Metal Gear Solid, but a neighbour in the condo where I lived had SF2. Man, we spent countless hours giving headshots and grabbing those precious flak jackets in multiplayer mode, it was so much fun. The Syphon Filter trilogy on PS1 was way too underrated, all three were solid action/stealth games with a decent plot behind them, though SF2 was by far my favourite. I loved the minigames on SF3 as well, holy cow they were hard! 989 Studios/Eidetic hit a home run with SF on PS1, and though the PS2 and PSP titles might have not been as good, it's a shame there were no more sequels.

Honestly, particularly the early parts of the first game, give me more the vibe of a television series. When I played it back in the day the influences of TV shows like The X-Files and NYPD Blue were at least somewhat apparent. I could see Netflix making a pretty kick ass miniseries out of this.

mission 14 of Syphon filter: my heart was in my throat each step I took from escorting both lian and phagan through the catacombs. but the amount of enemies that this level throws at you is ridiculous I stuck to crouch walking with not only my primary weapon which was the silenced 9mm but also the 12 gauge shotgun,glock 17, M1911 and M16A1 assault rifle...which was my full arsenal basically. as an added note: lian can receive a good amount of damage before dying and her gun does some crazy damage too (desert eagle). but to all who have lost hope with mission 14 in syphon filter for ps1 its not impossible its doable just a lot of luck involved because there is no way skill got me through this mission I survived the level to the very end by the skin of my teeth with no armor left and only a sliver of health.
