Syria’s Ahmed al-Sharaa named president for transitional period

Syria’s de facto leader Ahmed al-Sharaa has been named president for a transitional period, the Syrian state news agency (SANA) has reported. Sharaa was also authorised to form a temporary legislative council for the transitional phase which will carry out its task until a new constitution is adopted, SANA reported on Wednesday, citing commander Hassan Abdel Ghani.

1. HTS is not aligned with Al Qaeda and they're *definitely not* aligned with ISIS. Julani (Ahmed al-Sharaa) refused to pledge allegiance to al-Baghdadi back in 2013 and Al-Nusra fought against ISIS in numerous battles. And e must likely only pledged allegiance to Al-Qaeda during this time for strategic purposes and later severed ties when they were no longer beneficial. HTS is it's own group focused on governing Syria, unlike ISIS or Al Qaeda which are global organizations with global ambitions. 2. Until recently, HTS only controlled a small amount of territory in Idlib province. How exactly were they in a position to help the Palestinians when they were fighting their own war? 3. How did they help Israel occupy Syria? 4. Neither. They're now the government of Syria and need to focus on fixing Syria after decades of mismanagement. Give them time lol

It is important that every group in Syria is represented by a representative. This should become the house of representatives. These representatives must be elected. .. the number of representatives of a group should be proportional to the number of people within the group. These people do not need to be elected as presidents, but anyone of them or any one of the people can present his / her agenda to run the country and those with the best plan and team wins. Elections should be held every four years, and no one can stay past the four years. The foreign policy will decide if sanctions are lifted. Syrian oil must pay for infrastructure reforms. FDI must be made attractive so that other rich countries will want to invest and /or live in Syria. The external ministry must ensure adequate projects to rebuild are properly managed and funded. International universities and European standards for infrastructure must be applied. Expats should be encouraged to return and contribute to building a stable country, and should also be given the chance to run for the House of Representatives or the presidency.

For other countries like USA to lift the sanctions. the interim president must rewrite the constitution for SYRIA which is of inclusive and a fully fledged democracy. Otherwise, this terrorist leader will apply the same logics applied by Taliban in Afghanistan where foreigners, women and girls together with other minority different religious and cultural groups would be suppressed and deprived off of humanity standard.
