To confirm sheikh statement about ulama not involving is politics, I'm from Iran and for 40 years this regim of isna ashahri shia are extreme specially for things like hijab, but result is after 40 years I can say 50 percent of people hate Islam to the core, because of that they insult our prophet and even quote and quote their imams. Walaikumusalaam Wa rahmatullahi Wa barakahatuhu Barak Allahu Feek, Aameen Alhumdulillah for a thorough discussion and some well-stated points regarding Hadith and Hadith authenticity. A future khatirah incorporating authentic Hadith regarding Dhajjal etc,. would benefit the Ummah in sha Allah. Thank you very much for emphasizing that ulema can serve as guides to Allah(swt)’s laws without being involved directly in politics and that countries’ leadership should take a “soft approach” in order for religiousity to thrive while enjoining good and forbidding evil in sha Allah. Aameen to the duas. May Allah (swt) guide us all to be the best of role models, leaders, and implement that which pleases Him, Aameen. I, a no body, politely disagree with YQ on the idea that "scholars shouldn't get involved." Syria is in need of scholars to guide them to what is right. There are so many different ideas and sharks out there looking to get a piece of something. The people in podcasts are asking where are the scholars? The scholars are needed to guide the leadership, not run the country. When the scholars don't want to get involved, how can you expect any good to come out of the situation?

Very important reminder overall. A leader should not be a scholar but should be god-fearing and practicing. People conflate that these days. In many muslim countries anyone who prays 5 daily and constantly recites quran is jokingly called a "Sheikh" and I feel that is part of the problem. A scholar is on a whole other level above. But a practicing leader who has scholarly advisers as well as various other advisors seems best wallahu a3lam.

Islamic scholars, sheikhs or Imam in America have a key role in guiding and representing the Muslim Ummah, especially during times of global challenges and injustices, often linked to U.S. government actions. They should focus on uniting the community, advocating for justice, and voicing concerns to the government through proper channels. if needed they need to give some concessions to their lifestyle. Their Knowledge should not be used for personal gain but to serve the community. Avoiding leadership while accepting support like sadaqah and hadiya undermines trust. Debates on Hadith, such as those about Khorasan or the black flag, should focus on their relevance to current Muslim struggles. Whether these Hadiths are strong or weak, what practical impact do they have? They speak of events in the future-so why create fear? Scholars should aim to promote unity, strength, and informed action, not fear or personal influence. When academics block others for differing opinions, it shows a lack of respect for open dialogue and truth-seeking. This attitude harms unity and hinders the ability to address the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah

I’m not sure if I agree with the scholars not being fit to run countries or to get involved into politics, because that will mean that Islam is only a vision and something that you preach. I think the issue that we have in the Muslim world is that scholars are not educated or experienced enough in the field of management and politics. You need a different skills set to run a country with a lot of diversity than when you are studying or researching Hadiths and preaching about the ideal Islamic world. To help people grow to the ideal world you need to help them figure out how to reach that world. So scholars have an important role to play in politics, but need to learn to play the game according to their own terms while giving room to others to play the game according to their terms.
@bilalbaig8586
@bilalbaig8586 Ай бұрын
The issue with scholars in politics is that you have to make compromises. A scholar who teaches Islam cannot make such compromises because he is synonymous is with Islam itself so it appears as if Islam itself is making compromises. A politician is not held to the same standard so if he makes a mistake theh he is replaceable.

Realisticly, one need to , sometimes take some majors that can be.. conversial. Look at Salahuddin Ayubi. Everyone knows his bravery and leadership. But he also has some dark history. Which is why he is a great leader. BUT can scholars take those dicisions?

Towards the end part of the talk, there are some missing points like when its said "Ulema should be the farthest from politics", then Gaza genocide happens and Bosnian and so on, without Muslim rulers doing nothing. Consequently, many ayaat of the Quran and many authentic ahadith are not acted upon. So, thats a big statement sheikh has made, based on my knowledge. The naseehah that "let other live" is within the Islam, so if some Aalim as the ruler doesn't do so and impose a hardcore narrow minded way to accept and be a certain way or be punished, then that aalim ruler has not understood the Islamic political system that our beloved Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) showed us and the khulafa ar rashidoon followed! my humble advice would be: Ulama should not just be indulged in Fiqhi issues and discuss and debate with one another about matters that are completely theoretical and extra complicated, but should start seeing Islam as a political system and study that. so when Allah gives them chance to rule, they do it well and not do as the sheikh referred done in history and currently as well.

As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah, Respected Shaikh. I was quite confused by your statement today that religious leaders should not get involved in politics. My question is, where are religious leaders involved in politics, except for Afghanistan? Afghanistan has become far more peaceful than Western nations. They may be poor, but that is not a cause for concern, as our beloved Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.) was also poor. Another point you mentioned, Respected Shaikh, is that there should be a kind of freedom. Fine, but to what extent? Should it be like MBS's way, Sisi's way, Dubai's way, or the Pakistani way? You also mentioned the issue of black flags. While that may be a "Hassan" Hadith, you yourself are weakening it by following one Islamic scholar. This has created a lot of confusion.

25:00, sorry respectfully I disagree with Scholars not getting involved in politics. In fact scholars should get involved in politics so we get good honest leaders and not corruption as we currently have.

To get involved is oke but to make it look like that this time is the time a Hadith is talking about is wrong and misleading. Because only Allah knows best

If you want proof of how this can backfire , look at the example of the deobandi movement and how it’s entry into politics lead to the extreme group of the Taliban

Sheikh I listened to your Hadith about Isa a.s coming down at the white minaret of the masjid in Damsyik on the eastern part Isn't this Hadith also very specific. But you didn't mention that Ibn Taimiyyah, Ibn Jauzi or ibn Qayyim said that whenever the Hadith is specific , that is a sign of problematic Hadith regarding end of time.

The end analysis is completely unnecessary. He says scholars should not talk about politics and yet he talks about politics and yet again undermines himself. Islam is not flourishing in the west, far from it. Only a non-scholar, someone who works with a cross-section of society understands this point. The majority of our kids in the west are not practising this religion. The majority of people in an area taking cross-sectionally, does not pray and has very little understanding of Islam. Contrast this to the Muslim countries it is the other way round. The fact is Muslims in the east are living Islam, I’m struggling with occupation both physical and financial. Those systems of oppression came from the west and still very much have their conception, inception, and propagation from the west. This whole thing is fishy.

I don't completely agree with your assessment. There are many people who are practicing Islam in the west and many who are even converting to Islam and better Muslims than born Muslims. It may be the circles you are with but the circles I have been with many are very practicing and we regularly give dawah and many converted and are very practicing Muslims as well.

Ibn Khaldun’s statement makes no sense (so I’ll check and verify this myself), given that he himself was a politician and a scholar. Moreover many other examples of learned statespersons, we know of the famous Nizam Ul Mulk.

2:20 Any system that lacks a methodology to distinguish forgeries from true information can legitimately be rejected by a human as something they will follow and presume is from God. No religion has the ability to distinguish between the 2 beside Islam with its science of hadith [documenting the men in the chain back to the prophet and what he says, along with biographies of said men in the chains to establish their reliability]. The jews [in talmud pertaining to conversations had between rabbis] and christians [in bishop lists] and shia [pathetic hadith system] have lists of names but these people are unknown, with no corroboration by others. Historically unreliable. Order of robustness of an ideology's chain of transmission system from weakest to strongest Christian's --> Jews --> shia --> Sunni Islam Only sunni Islam's system establishes certainty beyond reasonable doubt about reports mentioned, able to distinguish true information from false Alhamdulilah

Listen to him again...he is only giving his opinions based on his knowledge and experiences from what he has learned from the writings of great scholars like Ibn Khaldun and what he has witnessed over the last few decades. He is arguing, most of scholars are idealistic while political leadership is about what is practically possible... Example, if someone converts to Islam today, then he has to start following what Islam teaches immediately, but that's more idealistic(it's what the scholars will tell you) because this person lacks knowledge on Islam, what's practical is for him to start reading and learning about Islam and implementing whatever he learns slowly(this is now political leadership)....! I heard someone defining politics as the art of ممكن (what is possible)....!

Wasn't Ibn Khaldun involved in political matters himself? 🤔 Let's grant that Ibn Khaldun meant what Dr. Yasir is trying to say, even though I'm not convinced that's the case - let's say he does. So what? How do you quote someone centuries later and hide away the necessity of political awareness and activism from the Quran and seerah itself?? When the Prophet (saw) himself was involved in political affairs of his society?? 🤷‍♂ If Ibn Khaldun or YQ say one thing, but the Quran/seerah orders you to something opposite, who should I follow? How are you going to "enjoin the good, forbid the evil" for an entire society without getting involved in "politics"?? Talk about using the ant to hide the elephant.

A scholar or a group of scholars guiding the leadership is recommended over electing a scholar to become actual leader is what I think he is saying. It's rare to posses both qualities of being a strategic calculating politician and a religious scholar at the same time.
