Being an Indian Muslim, I am a secular person, and to be honest, we have to be aware of one thing: when the Western countries talk about democracy and secularism and try to indulge in the countries like Syria, initially they will try to bring peace and later they will make their country most peaceful that the countries cannot move further, and we witnessed the same in Afghanistan. It was always the Western countries, including the Great Britain and USA, who tried to colonize directly or indirectly, destroying the countries’ resources and people and remained a shame on humanity. Of course, I support secularism, but we cannot stand with the USA when it comes to this kind of transition of the government. This indirectly helps the USA and Israel to show their hypocrisy against the people of Palestine. We should not, you know, commit a mistake by relying on the USA.

The thumbnail (title) of this video and in particular the conclusion drawn by Mr Thappar is absolutely unbecoming of any decent conversation. The fact that the benchmarks of secularism and liberalism have been reduced to how a regime or a government allows its women to dress, somehow exposes the shallowness of these 'isms'.
@winter_silhouette3 күн бұрын
It's a direct qoute from the lady, not Karan. And people's rights (including the freedom to wear clothing of their own choice and volition) is an integral part of any liberal society.
@wjashai58083 күн бұрын
@winter_silhouette yeah, of course it was a direct line from the lady speaker. The way Karan picks up on it and the way The Wire team decides to highlight the same in their thumbnail is worth noting. No wonder, the Freedom to dress is then an integral part of these new age 'isms' !!!
