I've been using this soap for years and I'm a big fan, especially the scent. It has a savory, earthy scent, and the higher the percentage of bay leaf oil in the soap, the better it smells. How wonderful it will smell in the factory’s warehouse with all those mountains of soap! Greetings from the Netherlands

I am from Sweden but discovered this soap a few years ago by pure coincidence. Haven’t stopped using it since then, it feels really nice on the hair and skin. Before I used multiple products, now I just use two different Aleppos soaps for everything and don’t even need to condition. Saves a lot of money too. Since then I got interested in Syrian things and went to their shops, they have some lovely aubergine stuffed with nuts (think it’s called makdoush don’t know spelling) and mhashi and wine leaves, they are my new discovered favourites. Absolutely love it!

How can this video gets so many thumps down?🙄The ones who dislike this video doesn't know the benefits of this soap, and what this company contributes to the society and to oneself! Firstly, the company is carrying on this soap making technique to younger generations. I find this very good! Secondly, I am very sensitive about what to use on my body and hair scalp so I can't use normal shampoo. Therefore; I find Aleppo soap very good for my skin and hair. Besides, when using this soap I consume less plastic bottles, which means I don't contribute for more plastic usage. Everyone knows that plastic is not good for neither you or the environment. Thirdly, people who have environmental awareness ( like me) are happy to have this opportunity to buy this soap. It makes their living less plastic and knowing you're not contributing to damage Mother earth is an awesome feeling! I can sleep well at night knowing that I'm trying to live sustainable for the sake of my children, grandchildren and for the future generations ahead. At least I know I'm trying, and those who are complaining about the greenhouse effects on the environment: please ask yourself first if you are trying to live sustainable instead of always complaining. Finally, to those who haven't tried Aleppo soap, please do! I promise you won't be disappointed. Good for you and for the environment 💕💃 Thanks for sharing this video and thanks for reading my post ( vomit bucket😝)

@@violetholiday what does an "all natural process" mean then? What's an example of an unnatural process?

@@dk14929 it means it's a buzzword soap making is ancient, but it has always contained lye and lipids. Lye is a base that reacts to the fats (lipids) and through saponification makes soap. Plastic synthesis could be an example of an "unnatural process" if you subscribe to the idea of natural and unnatural products.

Ive just begun trying out soap making. This (essentially) was my 1st recipe. I made a lard soap - bare bones recipe to use in a saddle soap recipe that came out really nicely. The olive oil soap was the most interesting to me for a few reasons - its ancient & its such a pure thing. There are many very contrived recipes with 6 different added scents & all of these elaborate color schemes but for cryin out loud its soap. Of the 6 types of soap Ive now made the olive oil 1 (once fully cured) is my favorite. I was surprised by the lather after 4 weeks of drying. It was quite a lot better than when it was fresh. I used a 2 or 3% addition of orange oil (% based on wt of oils in recipe) but having seen the addition of laurel oil (bay laurel) I would like to try that since I was taught how to use bay laurel here locally in N Cal for its use in boat building - at higher elevations it has the ability to fight infestation by bugs & its naturally curving main trunk is perfect for keels on boats. Its called pepperwood here & we made tool handles with it in a boat building class. It grows all over here. ANYWAY I think it would be a very nice compliment as a scent oil added to this purist recipe.
