...And the measuring cup, my Mom had the orange colored cups. She purchased them in the early sixties. My dear sweet Mom passed at 94 y.o. but the cups are still in her kitchen.😊❤

Had to come back because I heard you say you go through alot of vanilla. I make mine now because it's getting so expensive. I just fill up a Mason jar with vodka and drop 2 or 3 vanilla pieces in. Store in a dark place and shake gently once a week. I guess one could use in 3 months but the longer the better😊

My momma used to make her tea cakes with Karo too.they were so good. She used to use the light Karo syrup to make them look lighter. She showed my how to make them once and I forgot the recipe. I am so sad because she’s no longer with us.

I see you scooping flour without fluffing your flour first, i usually swirl my whisk through my flour before measuring out my flour, should I do that for older recipes? Or should I not bother to do it at s at all? I never used to but I thought I had to? Now I’m not sure??

Modern recipes advise fluffing or sifting flour before spooning it into the measuring cup. Weighing is the most accurate. Times past a tea cup would be used to measure 1cup.
