Nice video. It seems to be very similar to Twitter's approach: pre-build in memory (in Reddis) the timeline feed of each active user, instead of buiding it when the user requests it.

LCM(32,24)=96 , They might be facing this issue once in every 4 days now.

In real life usually one add a random delta to expiry to each entry so that not all will expire at same time. i.e. some will expire at 32hr while other will expire 32hr+random delta. Also schedule should honor low load based on geo for each region, for example USA cleanup should start mid night in USA while cell serving India should do cleanup in US noon
