Yes, they got older, but notice that Lemmy was singing quite well even in his 60's, and man, he didn't spare his own voice, I'm telling you that, Rob Halford sounds very good in his 70's, so is Bruce Dickinson in his 60's. Remember Ronnie James Dio? That dude was singing just as good as always till the very end, he was 68 when he passed away. Serj is significantly younger than those singers and he already lost his voice? Let's be honest, he sounds horrible now.

Its all individual of course, i cant say how the mambers of SOAD feel and what they can do and cant. After reading the comments and watching the video, I can understand why there's some criticism of the performance, especially from an energy perspective. I think the guys still sound good, and while I can't truly pass judgment based on one song from an entire tour, it definitely seems like Serj wasn't 'feeling it'. It's a random thought comparing very different front men, but this made appreciate a guy like Hetfield and the consistent energy he still brings to every show (despite his mental struggles). Sure, his voice fails him sometimes, but he's got a few years on Serg (and probably several hundred more live show under his belt). It's interesting to see how different front men handle the physicality of playing such demanding music as they get into their 50's and 60's. This last video from Metallica's channel being a good example of the kind of energy I'm talking about: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKSQc5mug86Hq7M Jame's voice was almost completely shot here after nearly blowing on the previous song, I'm sure there's some post production being done to tidy things up, but the guys still crushes it from an energy perspective and being a showman for the crowd.

For all the people that call themselves "fans", then cry about how much SOAD's performance changed for the worse, i got some stuff to point out: It's not about their performance, at least on this stage, at this particular time. You have to understand that this band has been successful for over 2 decades, and i'm all about that! I respect the hard work they put, and still are putting throught throughout the years, and that's all what matters. No need to cry about it, SOAD is a legendary band. Sure they have their ups and downs, but i don't care! Every band/person gets to that point of life. I will keep supporting SOAD forever, because i am a REAL fan!
@harty31132 жыл бұрын
This is fairly laughable. Plenty of bands are still putting in maximum effort 20,30 or even 40 years later. And that's without taking 5 or 6 years off at a time. The truth is they don't care to put in any effort. This is a cash grab nothing more. They aren't legendary at this point just an overrated band that had a couple songs 20 years ago. And also why does their performance not matter? They are there to put on a show for a lot of people that paid a lot of money. It doesn't matter how they feel a bands job is to give the crowd a show no matter how big or small
@thepsychoed78382 жыл бұрын
@@harty3113 I wasn't gonna answer because; telling someone that his opinion is laughable, especially at the beginning of an argument, is a turn off, at least for me. But here i am replying, so might as well! The thing is, you can't be comparing a person to another, because everyone's unique and different; and same goes to bands (as for the grander scheme of things). If you are a fan of SOAD, as you are claiming to be, you should know more information and get deeper in details on our small subject (i'll leave you on your own to do some research). For what i said about their performance: first it was a great one. And second, it doesn't affect neither their present/future nor their past reputation in the music industry. I'll give you the summary and hope we'd end it here: sure you might argue that this performance was worse than the older ones, and you might be correct. But it doesn't matter, since the band gave up so much to its community. It wouldn't even matter to me if the band didn't even sing. Simply seeing them on stage (and i hope it happens more often), and perhaps releasing more songs (which is not mandatory), will bring me good vibes and memories. Because again, i love and support SOAD, and i'll always be their loyal fan!
