I have actually grown a good bit of liking for serj s "now a days" singing. It's not as good as before obviously but im beginning to enjoy listning to it quite alot. He has well over the avarage left of his voice compared to other singers.

I know that they're not young anymore but it's strange, in almost every "recent" live show I saw on KZbin, Daron and particularly Serj look and sound not only like they don't have the same energy, but almost like they don't give a fuck and don't know why they are there. Daron doesn't do the back vocals, which he was extremely good at, and Serj skips a lot of sounds, effects and even lyrics and PHRASES. Shavo and John still do well though, but the general effect is not really good imo, that's sad.

It's not that Serj and Daron didn't have that energy, it was because Serj's friend (Chris Cornell) passed away and Serj, like Daron, didn't even have the desire to do the concert, Serj even noticed that on his face.

I wish they would stop touring if they don't care about this stuff anymore. Seriously Serj is chewing gum? I laughed out loud out of disbelief. The entire reason why I searched for this live was to hear Daron's vocals anyway....I'd rather have them not tour at all if this is the most they can give. As a fan it would be really depressing to have payed money and used my time in order to travel and to attend to this concert + all the hours of standing around to get a good spot. And like I'm a new fan and was excited to hear they were still touring and going to come to my country next year. Now after this video I'm excited to have just saved my money. Welp. At least this letdown has made me a little more of a grateful and acceptive person, and had me realize how much more effort goes into their earlier performances than I previously thought.

Maybe, but serj here had a throat infection, he even went to the hospital. This was in the first shows of this tour. At the Download Festival of the same year Daron had to help him sing, because Serj literally couldn't sing, he was sick. When he was healed, the last shows of the tour were good, there was more energy, more screaming. 2018 was very good, Serj was screaming and there was a lot of energy, it looked like a 2002 concert, it was SOAD's last good year because 2019 was bullshit. So maybe you are right, or maybe not, but I as a fan, if System comes to my country, I would not really care if they have energy or not, without thinking I would go to a concert because they are my idols, it would be one of my goals no matter how much energy they have on stage. I am from Colombia I do not know if they return to my country.

I do idolize them which in a way makes them my idols as well (although I'm not a fan of the rolemodel connotation the word idol has because I don't maybe view them as rolemodels all the time, they use so much drugs). But that is exactly why I would view this as super depressing, because they are my idols, and I don't want to see my idols act with this disinterest towards all the things I loved about them. But in the end they are humans too and I shouldn't be expecting anything more from them than I would from a friend. So I still hope they would stop touring (even though my heart wants to stil see them live) if they don't enjoy it or if the guy has an actual throat infection. I hope that just for the sake of their own health.
