Jenii Robinson I had seen them before, and was at this festval in 2013, but I chose to see Chvrches instead, before they were as big as they are now. Its cool that people have different musical journeys... how I felt when I saw SOAD over a decade ago is probably how you felt in 2013 :)

Serj doesn't try to save his voice on every song; Daron plays without clowing (and making mistakes); flawless rythmic session = SOAD's '10 best performance ever.

well, he *does* kinda save it on Sugar, but it's reasonable, because it was one of the most damaging songs in his entire career (it has no singing and ALL the screaming Serj could do back in 1998). and he still sings the higher parts with the nasal voice, but it's also reasonable, because, for example, in Chop Suey, he'd have to hit a C5 with his normal singing register, which might've been easy to do when he was in his 30's. for those who don't know: C5 is above the usual male vocal range (most males have a baritone voice, as well as Serj), which spans from A2 to A4. C5 is a tenor note. Serj's range spans from D2 to E6 (though most of the 6th octave is already a falsetto register which wouldn't normally count), and to put it in comparsion, my vocal range is only from D2 to F#4 lmao

Nah i don't think he has trouble roaring. Screaming yes he can do but prefers not to because screaming can actually mess his voice up but as far as roars he just prefers to sing now then just shout and roar which he can easily do still. He didn't even struggle when he said sitting around all day.

As a good singer he is using a cleaner voice during concert for 2 main reasons. 1 he needs to keep his voice for the entire show 2 he can´t mess up his voice since probably they have another show in a couple of days on tour. when artists only do shows with a couple of weeks apart they can sign with their strongest voice. but when they do shows every week or every 4 days they need to be in shape and learn how to save strenght.
