He just doesn’t have 1995 scream growl but he’s trained his voice for the opposite end of the spectrum he just can’t get back there like people want and miss

he couldn't, because he didn't practice this range of voice anymore. there was a statement from serj on reddit where he finally answered this so long called question and he said this: it's the voice. Early on I was always reaching for notes which turned into scratchy vocals but now I can pretty much hit most notes, I can think of so it doesn't turn growly. I still yell and scream but my voice is much more developed I guess so it doesn't come out the same way. Ask an opera singer to scream and you'll see what I mean.
