The Hisshou is easy to conceal carry and an extremely efficient knife. The under the arm carry allows for rapid deployment of the blade. Essentially a short sword in the Samurai Shobu Zukuri style www.systemofstrategy.com/prod...

this is why sensei williams is my favorite. presently carrying the hissatsu fixed blade with the black finish but i am looking for a hisshou right now. i've played with one a little, and it was truly exhilarating. better made than some blades i've seen that go for thousands. love how straight forward and to the point he is, and the demonstration was flawless

Hopefully Knife Rights can help to make it legal for people to carry such a knife concealed in all 50 states, especially if you already have a carry permit for a handgun. Some of the legislation regarding knives, batons, etc., is ridiculous. I know I would like to carry one if I could. Unfortunately, Virginia has some rather vague regulations on items "of like kind" to a Bowie, dirk, etc. Perhaps we can get such things overturned sooner rather than later. If you like knives, make sure you stay politically active to keep them legal.

Hey James, I got a 2910 make of this excellent tool. What's new with the 2910N's that are out? Is the scabbard fit improved? Not sure if mine was a bit of a dud scabbard wise, horizontal carry on mine is basically a no go, as the weapon will dance right out of the scabbard. Roman/Vertical belt carry is fine though, and hasn't stopped me from field use and kitchen use ( glides right through ham bone effortlessly ; ) ) I'd love to see this knife use a system like what the M9 Bayonet uses to clip on/off the belt with a opening metal Bianchi clip/frog, with mounting points for either vertical or horizontal carry.

Matt, the change is very minor and not the sheath. I know some of them do not fit as tight as I would like. If yours is bad get in touch with CRKT. They stand behind the product.

Hello Sir, Do you have a favored method of sharpening the Hisshou? Any specific tools or tips? I have recently acquired a Hisshou, and would like to be able to keep it sharp without changing the angle of the grind or the profile. Thank you!
@SystemOfStrategy6 жыл бұрын
I use stones, up to 8000 for knives like the Hisshou, Shinbu, and Sakimori. Their edge shape and steel allow an extremely fine, sharp cutting edge. I like sharpening by hand personally.

I run a cord though the sheath and loop it over my head. The blade is carried under my arm pit. Black t-shirt, black cord, I have not yet had anyone recognize that I am carrying a short sword basically under my shirt. This is primarily an out of country carry.
@_jocker_games_5 жыл бұрын

Could you show your carry rig for that blade?
@SystemOfStrategy7 жыл бұрын
I thought I had one however I will do another one. It is very simple, I used a sageo from one of my swords, threaded it through the sheath, tied and knot in it and put it around my neck. It makes it very easy to ride in vehicle, or put behind your back when climbing. A black sageo and a black t-shirt and I have yet to have anyone pick up that I am wearing a short sword under my shirt.

Africa isn't a country my man 😂👍🏾 The blade is impressive though
@SystemOfStrategy7 жыл бұрын
It is not a country, but then I wasn't being very specific. Most countries in Africa knife carry is pretty much ignored. Firearms on the other hand can be very difficult to come by in some countries. In cities having a knife like this concealed can come in handy.
