I love how she's so playful and earthy, to the point of the surreal. The music feels like it borrows from that era of 80s fantasy synth, the sort of ambient music you'd hear in a kid's adventure movie (think Labyrinth or Goonies), but coupled with this fantastically rich bass. I think this song is about finding an escape. If you listen (for some reason a lot of people here can't understand what she's saying, but I can), she says "Summertime, Sadness" at the beginning of the song, and that right there should indicate depression, and I think she's asking for some sort of escape. A happy place. Therefore, that indicates the video. It's like she's in a fairy tail, it's as if in the song she was asking for a getaway, and in the video, she's finally found her new limbo. The song also talks about purity, religion beliefs and disbelief's, and obviously, depression and the yearn to feel happy.
