Famu featured woodwinds more than the other bands. The 100 has the smoothest sound that’s closest to the actual song. The others did a great job featuring the trombones in a jazzy way. I enjoyed all of them. Great New Year vibe from the great HBCU’s. ❤❤❤🐍🐍🐍

i really liked ksu’s sound but acoustics were definitely on their side, regardless sounded really good except for a trumpet mishap that happened asu was kinda aggressive in my opinion but had the best trombone sound southern had some tempo issues but sound was full and dynamics were nice famu was nice and full and it was nice to not hear an overwhelming amount of one section, had the best balance imo but the key changes was an interesting touch my opinion of course

I enjoyed Alabama and FAMU. Southern: I felt like it was a fight between which section could play louder. And the song suffered as a result. Alabama: nice balance. Nice use of some of the middle voices FAMU: key changes! Yes!!! That ending was the best. FAMU adds color with the mids and woodwinds and it makes for a better listening experience.

FAMU uses the same recipe. Middle voices start the voice then the lower brass plays the second half of it. Good contrast. Played it smoother and had the best ending I honestly like all of them which is rare! Great job bands and….. hubba 100 🐍

In my opinion, the best and most emotional performance of this song was by JUS, mainly because it was on the first Boombox of the year, when they went head to head with SU. and they sent this song in a raw and sublime way at the same time, it was beautiful!!!!👏👏👏👏

FAMU’s symphonic sound and dynamics makes them a clear winner. Their arrangement was beautiful and each section complimented the others instead of competing. Their musicality is evident from the tonal bass drum runs to the piccolo trills. KSU was second. The arrangement was super groovy and the tubas held it down. ASU was a little muddy and overblown. SU’s arrangement was too aggressive. It’s a slow jam! Stop screaming!😂
