His voice has gotten so much more controlled and confident as he has gotten older. Then, when he sings the old songs they have this amazing quality that none of us have ever been able to see! Of course, his singing of the older songs when they originated has a perfect place in my heart as well. Brian has been perfect from the beginning, but as he continues to grow we all get to see it...and that entire process...along with who he is now and who he will be in the future is definitely perfection as well!

Brian Molko : I was living in New York, thinking about moving there instead of living somewhere in France where I had been living and where I was feeling very down. I don't talk a lot of my private life, but it's very well known and very 'public domain' that I was in a relationship during that time but it didn't work. We really needed to take some time off. So I was in that big city and didn't know anybody. I lost my home, my family and I fell into a very deep depression. We had decided not to talk to each other but I couldn't bear it anymore. I remember I picked up a phone in some phonebooth in Broadway and called this person and said "see, I know I'm not supposed to be calling you right now, but I really need to talk to you". The song is part of the conversation we had over the phone, there's a lot of guilt in that song. Blind, included in Meds, is a somewhat alike song. The end of a relationship is kind like death. You have a life with someone and just suddendly, everything stops. The saddest part is that the world goes on and people go on minding their own business, without knowing the paint you feel. It's very interesting for an author to write about that.

This might be about Brian Molko himself. It's a beautiful song. Of course, he sings it so very well. It's one of my favorites. A little narrative, a history perhaps. And he certainly knows there is a difference between the song and the singer. I love the song. Oh, yes, I love this song. I identify. Artist of any kind are always people in search of the next perfect project that doesn't exist, but they pursue it anyway. They need that experience.Or maybe Stefan wrote it. Same issues. It reminds me of Blind, which is a stunning song of love and loss. Same. The price we pay for the pursuit of the Impossible.
