The "I need a vacation..." line was actually improv from Arnold. This was toward the end of shooting, and by this point, Arnie was sitting through 8-10 hours of makeup per day, then shooting for 8-9 hours after that, so he was tired. Cameron thought it was so funny he left it in the movie.

Molten Steel. I got teary-eyed from that scene when I saw it for the first time. It still gives me an emotional roller-coaster ride, but looking back at it, it's just like he said it best, *"I know now why we cry, but it's something we can never do."*

And WHAT A PARALLEL SCENE from 3:14 ☝️ Sarah Connor was forced AGAIN to push the button in order to lower (to terminate technically) the Good Terminator / T-800 through lava for the sake of humanity, just like what she did in The Terminator (1984) movie, where she was forced to push the button of the hydraulic press in order to press down/crash the Bad Terminator....

I always wondered if future John Connor gave the Terminator he sent back, mission parameters to have itself be destroyed if it would save/change the future. Even if it meant going against young John Connor’s orders. It’s mission was to protect young John Connor at all costs, including self sacrifice.
