The story of Snape is crazy. I always cry everytime I imagine the POV of Snape as a man. You know it's so sad when you fall in love with someone but destiny doesn't approve you and you take care of the son of your dead crush. This is the different level of love.

In the books, Dumbledore paralyzes Harry so he doesn't interfere or try to save him. Harry was also covered by the Invisibility Cloak, and Snape never saw or knew he was even there. The only thing that went wrong was Draco disarming Dumbledore, thus transferring ownership of the Elder Wand to him. The idea was for Dumbledore to die by Snape's hand and thus give the Elder Wand to him, a man he trusted, but due to Snape being late that didn't work out. Even though it all worked out well in the end, with Harry becoming master of the Elder Wand by overpowering Draco at the Malfoy Manor (Something he couldn't possibly hope to do with Snape) and beating Voldemort (Who was using the wand at the moment) due to that technicality, as the Elder Wand cannot be forced to harm it's own master. (Harry gets away with a lot cuz of technicalities. Hmmm)
