They did it live when they where at tour, and many times they did half live, some diffecult parts they had playback, but most of the singings on the tours was live. Look at there tour 2005 and 2006 all was live.

Julia had thyroid cancer. And it was said that she couldnt sing properly after the tumor was removed. Perhaps thats why they avoided live singing.
