Brian Pickens I had never seen one before I brought this one home. Lol I'm told 4 to 5 jnchrs, but I swear this one isn't getting any bigger. Maybe really slowly for another year or two. Who knows.

I think you should do some species profiles. I'm speaking for myself but being that I only keep a few different types of fish, a lot of what I actually see on people's videos is new to me.

+Scuba Steve I try to stay away from those. There are a ton of channels that do good, accurate species profiles. I like to bring my personal experience to the table, not just reciting care sheets that I'd be looking up online. Lol

+Dan Hiteshew I hear you but still, you have fish that I've never seen before. Of course, that's why I sub to other channels is to get a well rounded view of different types of fish species and I'm glad I did. I rarely watch other people's channels that I'm not subbed to unless they are really putting out good stuff of high interest to me. You do have very unique fish that I know zero about. Different LFS's keep different stock and so when I see fish like the one's you have, they really peek my curiosity but you're right, some people don't like to do info or how to's or profiles. I respect that. Keep up the good work. You know I love your channel!

I thought it was male, but not all my viewers agreed. I got some decent color, but there's not comparing it to a mating pair.

It's a female. You can tell by the body shape that it is a mature adult, if it was male, it would be twice as big, with a bit of a hump on its head. But the easiest way to tell males from females, even as juveniles, is that the female has yellowish/black fins, and the male has reddish/brown fins, with blue markings. The female also has a purple tone on the body, and the male is more reddish/brown. I have owned quite a few sajica pairs over the years, and I really like them, one of my favorite cichlid species, together with the keyhole cichlid. In fact, I bought a juvenile pair of sajica's just a couple of days ago, and it's already easy to tell which one is the male, and which one is the female.

40 Breeder. He chases the Tetras a little, but nothing to be concerned about.

Felipe C Cryptoheros sajica is the proper name for it. Cool little cichlids from Central America. Good luck finding one!

Jessica Cammarata His colors may have shifted as he's matured. You know how it is when you see them everyday. You just don't notice the gradual changes.
