T-Class Fuse Dissection - But a Byte

In the last video, a T-class fuse saved my arse when I dead-shorted my 48v Lifepo4 battery. In this short video, we take a look inside the fuse. There's not much to it, but it a way, it's pretty amazing it can do such an important job so reliably.

Thanks much for doing this teardown. I wondered how the T class fuse was able to prevent super high currents from just arcing past the break.

I believe the sand is designed to suppress arcing under high amps/volts between the end poles when the "fuse" blows.
