Hi Sangeetha, my mom and granny used to make this pudding with rice flour. She will grind raw rice in attukal and mix the wet flour with coconut milk. We have a pandan leave which leaves a enticing fragrance to this pudding. As u said this pudding was prepared for people who were displaced by the Japanese occupation in Singapore. My mom used to tell us whenever she made " Vennai pudding"
