Great video, really well thought out. I live in London now but I never gave up my Malaysian citizenship and I hope to spend much more time there during retirement.

Really interesting perspective. We Malaysians tend to be very critical of our country but from your explanation things are not as bad as they seem. Really enjoyed this video and have shared with my friends.

Expats are here taking advantage of the ease of life, not overtaking authoritarians or fighting for civil rights. Any social turbulence, they just vanish overnight. Simply put, you local fight for it, they come and enjoy it. 🎉
No country is perfect , but Malaysia is a rose among the thorns.

U know Malay look down upon Chinese in Malaysia , right?
@MayMay-May7 ай бұрын
@@exjock4foodieis it? My two sisters went to government university and one with the government study loan. I have never encountered any unpleasant situations when visiting the government department or my Malay colleagues.

Your comment is flawed due to ignorance. Non malays especially chinese can walk with their heads high because they contribute to everything here. It is rather instigating to say that malays look down on chinese as this is not true and never being practised since everyone know the importance of each other. There is certainly special opportunities reserved for the malays which everyone has accepted though there is expectation that they can be better implemented. I would say that Malaysian chinese feel at home and comfortable living here compared to if they are in UK or Australia as they have a share and have not experienced the sort of discrimination dish out by the whites to the non whites in those foreign lands.
It sounds like you can pick and choose wherever, whenever you want to go and no problems with the immigration policy of those countries. What is your secret?
Nice to know. Same in the US. I hire an older Chinese lady who primarily shop and cook for me for healthier food (less oil, less sodium, higher quality ingredients than restaurants) but even then the hourly labor costs are rising much too fast.
As a local ( malaysian ) , few points may help you . 1 ) knowing where you send your children study before get you stay ( take a note traffic problem ) . RM 6000 rental price on high value n take time may get better value for money.

@@A-Nomad-Life if you want to reduce rental fee n 3 car park is more than enough , you can reduce number of car park place n the owner can also rent out the car park . win win situation
Welcome to Malaysia, one thing for sure, your kids will be happier in Malaysia. And he will be multilingual. For maid, you can use hourly maid, in term of hourly rate is very reasonable.
