Asahina is superb, and Bernstein is legendary. Abbado though holds a special place for me as I heard him conduct this work live in Boston in the late 1970's. Rattle uses a children's chorus and extra brass players in the back, which are not in the score for this piece (perhaps he borrowed them from the ending of the Mahler 8th Symphony?).

As I said in my own comment (in Japanese) Rattle's concert was, I believe, his last concert as a music director of CBSO. They (he) wanted to use as many people as possible to mark the occasion, hence the children's choir and off stage brass. It's his, as well as many other conductor's, party piece so he knew exactly why they were there.
