This album really sounds like the album title indicates in the best way possible. The lyrics (that I can understand anyways) paint vivid pictures. The song structures lend equally well to the theme, epic and romantic. As a fan of all the band's work to this point this is a much welcomed addition to the discography! Maybe it's me, but I feel this album so classic and generic. I love Tyr, but this album is for the masses and not for their fans: Each song is just 4/4 with double pedal striking again and again, common melodies, lack of guitar harmonies, only natural minor structure... I fell in love with Tyr due to their progressive parts, tempo changes and mix of folklore/myths with metal. Sorry guys, but I need to go back to Valkirya, Lay of Thrym and Ragnarok for get the old vibes again.

I mean, it's not a long album, but it's fairly normal. It's not a bunch of long as hell prog metal songs and I'm not sure why you were expecting that, I guess? Of course it's gonna sound excessively short if your example is "If I ignore 20% of the music, it's kinda short". Who the hell does that? Just because the songs aren't English? I guess people like you are why Dalriada doesn't get more recognition. FWIW I do agree that the first non-english song is boring. They have good calmer / slower songs. That isn't one of them. The second is very solid though. Edit: First non-english song is aight. It builds up very slow but the ending is great so I forgive it.
