I have this tin but not making lemon, just vanilla. In your vanilla sponge recipe you added baking powder. How much would I add to this recipe? And how much vanilla? How long to bake for? Sorry for the questions! Love the cake.

For the ingredients in the comments what time did the cake mix go in the oven for and at what temperature? Looks great I plan to bake and decorate this for my daughters birthday. But it’s a Crystal Palace cake instead 🔴🔵

Hi Lee, I put all my cakes in at 180C on conventional oven or 170C on a fan oven. I made this this cake a while ago so can't tell you the exact time (plus it will depend on your ovens performance). My advice would be to check it after 45 minutes (but will likely take longer). If a toothpick come out clean it's done, or you can see if it bounces back when you gently touch it with your finger tips. If it starts to brown to much cover it with tin foil and don't forget to line your tin with parchment. Best of luck. I'm sure your daughter will love it!
