Thank you for the review. Wanted to ask, what is the contact washer for? I have it badly presses tips, unlike those two contacts, is that anything strange or normal?
@InsideOutElectronics
@InsideOutElectronics Жыл бұрын
It is not normal, cleanup contact you can with alcohol... but better to take it apart and bend contacts a bit to make good contact...

It is common for many of T12 station for displaying "Error" when a brand new tip is heating up for the first minute, followed with some random up and down temperature value and after that it will show the correct value. In this soldering iron, i think the error is caused by that, or when it is reading under 150°C, or not reading any tip is being inserted (not inserted properly or no tip at all). They better put some codes about what kind of error it is in.

Wondering if I should get SH72 or this one for experimenting with Arduinos and random electronics repair tasks. I have small hands, so maybe SH72 is a better option for me. But this T12 seems to have better build quality than SH72. Maybe I should also buy a JCD 908S because it has cheap 900M tips and I can replace those with copper tips because I liked soldering with copper tips when I had my old soldering iron. Currently, I have HQ-Solder/30 soldering station but I don't have a dedicated workbench, so it gets annoying to remove the station after I have finished soldering or when need more space for disassembling some devices. Also, HQ-Solder soldering tips get dark soon and I have to tin them often. Had no such problems with my old iron with copper tips - those were easy to tin and could be easily reshaped with a file when they lost their form.

I think for what you explained SH72 is better. But I so much like T12/T15 tips ! Very versatile and even original HAKKO are affordable !

At least this iron comes with a point tip rather than a knife tip as most of the others do.

Thinking of ordering this instead of the t12 942 much better price. Also I'm going to use a 20v 4,000 mah drill battery to power it as full charge should be close to 24v

I just bougt one from aliexpress and there is this dmh setting that sets up time in seconds for it to to go to standby if not used. I somehow got that setting stuck on 999 is there any chance of reprograming it or reseting the memory to factory settings?

@@InsideOutElectronics thanks for replying i will try that. But first i need to fix the broken inductor that i found on input that is probably the cause of the issue. Thing is that when i first pluged it in i had an isssue where it would lose power as i moved it around. I assume now when i found broken inductor that it was sparking and potentially creating high voltage spikes that gliched the controller.

Hier Sind 2 Videos two Videos: T12 TR Soldering Pen OLED Mobil - 12Volt Test: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJbagIKllMimm5o T12 TR Soldering Pen OLED Mobil Temperatur Test 100C (Error) Hersteller QUECCO: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qp3Fd4KeiNegl8k Info! Zeigt das meine Version von 2022.04 ab 100 C beim herunterzählen Abkühlen ERROR zeigt im Display. Was normal ist laut Anleitung! English: Shows that my version of 2022.04 from 100 C when counting down ERROR shows in the display. Which is normal according to the instructions! The other video shows the error with 12, 13 volt power supply. The display only shows up to approx. 260 C, after that it stops, the soldering iron works perfectly when operated with 19 or 24 volts. If the soldering iron stops at approx. 260 C during operation with 12 volts, it continues to work in the background and, according to the temperature measurement, becomes uncontrollably hot at just over 400 C.

I have this iron as a mobile iron, i use it with a 20v powerdelivery powerbank. I have a USB-C 20v powerdelivery to barreljack cable.

I completely removed barrel jack and put USB-C with 20v decoy. My powerbank can output 45W, so basically I can solder anywhere ;) Already needed to solder some cables around ceiling lighting

It shows mistakes because it is below 100C, they would have read the instructions ;-) From 100c the error disappears. I bought 2 pieces, they work well, but at 12 volts none of them go to over 250c according to OLED display, whatever -my Two Were from Quecoo with Red Led, Apparently they need more als 12 volts to work correct. ... Greetings from Germany
@InsideOutElectronics
@InsideOutElectronics 2 жыл бұрын
I have realized that, but in my case this looks like 140C. I have not tried temperature at 12V, I would have to test, is it possible that your powersupply is current limiting ?
@CAPTAINxGNADENLOS
@CAPTAINxGNADENLOS 2 жыл бұрын
@@InsideOutElectronics Mine all have a red LED, the previous ones had a blue one, which I would have liked better. there were certainly changes made to the newer generation, since theirs already switches off at 140c, my soldering irons all at 100c. When they made the change, the Chinese probably forgot to test it with 12 volts, something is definitely wrong. ;-) no, my power supplies don't limit. The meanwell power supply has 5 amps at 12.7 volts. Another is 20 amps at 12.5 volts. Here it is exactly the same, the indicator in the soldering iron stops. However, it continues to heat up, albeit uncontrollably to over 400 C. As soon as I use an 18 volt, 19 volt or a 24 volt power pack, the soldering iron works perfectly. The 19 volt power supply only has 2 amperes, so it works perfectly and the display counts up to 350 C normally (if I have set that) This problem only occurs with 12/13 volts! You have an older previous model, maybe it is not the case with you? could be that they have changed something on the newer models or the production is faulty. I'm just arguing with alieexpress as I've bought several of these soldering irons. All show the same error! That's annoying because we wanted to run the soldering iron on a car battery at the model airfield. According to QUECCO, the soldering iron should work properly from 12 to 24 volts, which it does not. Can you check if your soldering iron works at 12 volts and runs normally with the display?
