@@YEOHKokCheow nope, a sim is a provider thing. Needs subscription, you can use the radio without a sim like you use your oem. Treat it a tablet or iPad with sim capabilities, will you be able to navigate without a sim? So it’s same bud. Sim is to add internet access and use the radio standalone without feeding it wifi or internet from your phone. Makes sense ?

Really impressed with the thought that went into this. Can't wait to see the other colorways. I think the addition of the RCA caps was a really nice add-in, that was something I purchased for mine, and for the cost to include I think customers are going to appreciate the convenience. If I could make a suggestion - perhaps you could punch a small hole in the shipping foam that would allow the foam to be stacked over the shifter in the 4runner. I used the box upside down over that, but if the foam could be layered over that area to provide a soft worksurface that's another one of those low/no cost value adds!

“Ok, Boys!” I got mine back in August and I must say this Screen is Amazing! It plays everything: Movies, Vids, TV, Netflix, CarPlay, etc. All Camera functions work in my 2024 5Th Gen TRD ORP. Not one complaint! 😂

Just a Tapping 8M bit is enough and (4) 8M screws with a 10mm head bolt or 5mm hex is enough…I have both! Changing the engine oil filter is a breeze! Much needed upgrade.

Till now, this is by far the best build out there. If you follow it install video and tidy up the wires as mentioned. It’s all in the tiding up the wires to have the best fitment and no touch issues aka ghosting.

Hey, sorry for the late reply! I was heading home 12H drive straight. Sim will be available again July 15th. It’s for having a dedicated data for your headunit if that’s what you want , in your truck. Front facing camera, I suggest licking up any AHD or UHD or 1080p from Amazon. I do have one but not High res.

Hey, sorry for the late reply, this was hurried under too many comments for some reason. So apologies on tardiness . You can achieve all gauges , temp and so on by adding an OBDII , like we have added since the T9 in the headunit group , Link to join in description of video. It does have screen mirroring but who needs screen limited sluggish mirroring when you can unleash the power of the unit when using standalone and or CarPlay. Yes you can add front camera and more . That's the best looking head unit I've seen by far for the 4R. It ticks all of the boxes. I have a Sony XAV-AX8100 that has been great, but the fitment and the fact the screen hovers outside of the trim on a short mount bothers me. The top edges of the screen on the Sony also block almost half of the A/C vents so even if the T12v2 has smaller vents with 2x 90 degree bends, it would either be the same flow or more in my case.

Absolutely the best! You’re right. Don’t worry about the vents , they are way more than fine. No one complained if and when installed correctly and sealed as mentioned, especially me that I love cold vs hot weather … Sony is an amazing brand , all my TV’s are Sony and LG but they stopped doing car audio long time ago. It’s outdated . We are in a world of mobility . So these headunits dominate the market . Thanks for the comment and support , cheers !

Love the design, quality and responsiveness of the unit. My only question is Does it change the way it sounds from the original JBL unit system ? Does it lower the audio quality in any way? Does it bring an internal amp to help compensate?

Thank you 🙏! Actually doesn’t matter 2014-2019 JBL not not. Same harness , 2010-2013 different harnesses , you choose from the drop down menu, according to your oem, doesn’t lower at all sound quality, it’s actually way stronger than oem. There’s an internal built in DSP and you can control individually each output .

The rear and 2 side mirror came with in the 360 Birds Eye MTM but the front off-road 4Lo doesn’t automatically when off-roading .

Is there any loss of AC airflow since it's being redirected? Did you use foam for the bottom vents as well or just the top vents?

Truth . Maybe 5% loss but compensates to the sides so you won’t feel it. I used my own foams that I bought from Lowe’s , Home Depot, part / post is in the group, others also posted about it and no complaints at all about loss .

1- yes , all headunits come with wireless 🛜 built in CarPlay and android auto. 2- it’s a matter of memory and ram, like a computer, iPad, notebook, why do you get more ram in a phone or a tablet or a PC ? Same same 3- no , a sim is not needed, think of it like an iPad with sim capabilities, it still works with any wifi or sharing your phone’s internet . When and if you decide to have a sim down the road, you’ll be using the headunit like your phone, standalone. Makes sense ?

I upgraded a few years ago to the KENWOOD Excelon. How hard would it be to change to this unit? Also can I attach a front camera and a dash camera?

Not hard at all, (IF) you or the installer hasn’t cut any oem wiring. My headunits are all plug and play no wire cuts , unlike any unit out there. Yes you can connect a front camera and yes dash cam but it’s preferred for the dash cam to be wired direct to a fuse .

Thank you 🙏 Mine’s are visible, it’s a matter of where and how the polarization is done . We have a full post about that in the headunit group since 2018+ my cheap glasses from Amazon don’t show it, my Raybans do, my Gucci doesn’t , my Prada’s don’t , so it’s a matter of how the prescription glasses were done .

I wear polarized Oakley sunglasses during the day. Are there any issues with seeing the screen? I have had two different portable CarPlay units, one of which was unusable with my sunglasses. Thank you!

As mentioned on Facebook messenger , Depends on the pattern of the polarized glasses. But the positive part is that , people who complained about that with the T9 and T10 , didn’t with this.

All units come with WIRELESS 🛜CarPlay or Android auto , if you absolutely need wired . Then you need to get the dongle. Usually , The dongle , you don’t need , It’s the wired , wireless CarPlay / Android auto product that people buy if they want wired as well and or Share their truck with someone for ease of use and or if they want to use CarPlay and sim data on the headunit same time. Every unit comes with wireless CarPlay and android auto

Hi, Sound is way better than oem with or without JBL. It has its own DSP and EQ. So you can set it to whatever your ears 👂 like.

Yes but the hazard switch harness is half ready. We hit a hiccup with the 2020+ because Toyota changed the harness again on the 2024. Usually it’s 1-2 weeks to ship then another 3-7 business days because demand is extremely high and it’s first in first out and it fluctuates according to current weekly orders. Demand doesn’t meet production. Yes you can hook up amp and sub . A lot have done it in the headunit group. You’re right there are RCA’s and green is sub out .

Installed and everything is awesome. Two problems though. The backup camera quality isn't great at all and the wireless dongle disconnect randomly at times. Some maybe good sometimes maybe shitt 😂

What’s the order ID? Backup camera is the limitation of our 4Runner oem quality, obviously it’s not magic , it’s common sense that it won’t be great, and I presume you’re talking more at night, so it’s all about the lighting, in the headunit group, link to join in the description, I have a whole post about that, I explain that lighting is everything for the camera. 2, the dongle shouldn’t disconnect, unless your headunit or phone is grabbing a different network (WiFi) So , I highly suggest joining the headunit group to trouble shoot . Thanks 🙏 Multiple members in the headunit group reported that 360 oem Birdseye view works only for the rear . So when you come forward to an object, the camera won’t trigger, but you can see rear and sides . What’s a digital dash board? You mean the odometer ? Yes absolutely you can have any diagnostics tool including torque or similar or any OBDII . We have many posts in the headunit group (link to join in description of this video) since 2018 the birth of the T8 model. So yes you can.
