Dude I just inserted two of the twist bands that comes with the cables right behind the paddles. They are quiet now. Sometimes we over complicate things.
@p51mustangflyer32 жыл бұрын
I just got this wheel, how did you do that cause god damn these paddles are loud
@alpharorschach87082 жыл бұрын
@@p51mustangflyer3 get the black twist bands, fold them in half and insert them behind the paddles, not the whole thing though, just about half. Now you must understand that they make a loud sound when they hit the base right after your release them after shifting. People think that the loud sound happens when the paddle does the actual shifting. That's the reason why you need to insert the twist bands behind the paddles and not in front.

one of the paddle shifters stop working. I follow the instructions on this video and I found out one of the magnetics was loose. I used hot glue to stick it back and put some tape to lower the noise. Thanks for sharing it.

This video is perfect and just what I needed after unboxing and testing this today. These paddles are so loud holy shit.

I used 3 small rubber bands on each paddle and bingo! - no more loud noise. Very quite indeed.

@@natkobratko3198 Sorry to hear that yours melted - not sure why? I used some rubber bands I found at the office and they have been working perfectly well for me. Perhaps not all rubber bands are the same. That's the only thing I can think off.

After getting the T248 I hated the paddles. Clack, clack, clack, clack. Was all for pulling apart but after watching I figured there might be an easier way. The magnets don't activate the switch, just the return. So instead I cut some thin foam rectangle cut pieces and pulling the paddle forwards I slowly wedged it in with a guitar pick. Now paddles feels softer and the click on activation is satisfying and quiet. Some solutions don't need to create bigger problems.

Pro tip...I cut 1.5in off of a weatherstripping roll (the kind that goes around your door, with the tape strip that you peel off), squish it flat, and slide it in behind the paddles. It's soooo quiet now. Took me 30 seconds to do them both. Just leave a bit hanging out so you don't accidentally push them in too far and lose them in there. I could click them with someone sleeping in the room now. Good thing about weatherstripping is that once you squish them and got them in, they try to inflate back to their original size, so they won't ever fall out. Try it. This fixed the huge problem I had with this wheel. That click is absurdly loud. WTH Thrustmaster?

I need a video on this... I don't want to take chances 🤷♂️
@GranTigerGaming2 жыл бұрын
Nice tip! One more tip I have for you and others, its not the best solution, but if you press the paddle closer to the inside of the wheel, instead of on the paddles outer edge, it also makes the click a LOT quieter. It can be annoying to play this way, but in a pinch if its just too loud and you want to play at night or something, it really helps, but this is a great long-term solution!

I saw a guy put two rubber bands on the paddles and it knocked down the sound pretty good. No disassembly.

Yes, I tried as well, but the result didn’t make me happy, it is the reason I did it in proper way and still working fine.

What I would use is gorilla glue brand non-slip pads that you put on your furniture bottom legs and you can cut into small squares put them there It will help significantly better with sound dampening than some electrical tape and it will stick way better.

Hey man i have this wheel and i put rubber bands on the shifters a few months ago and now they melted idk how to clean it its a very tight spot and its all electronic i dont know what to do? Can u help anyhow?

Hi there, best thing I can say, open it to clean it. Not sure how rubbers are melted but it can be removed easily if you open it. Please watch the video, it is super easy, just there is one cable you need to be careful with, when you remove it, the rest is easy and just few screws..

I solved it by inserting thermo-shrinking rubber behind the paddles.

Reason I've used electrical tape is because it can stick but any kind of plastic should does the job. well done.

Well. I don't know what is the right answer to your problem however if it is brand new check for warranty. If not you need to open it and see what is wrong with the board or paddle shifters contacts. It can be easy fix for it or the big one. It is difficult to saying something without seeing it really.
