Total BS nerfing the t29. Almost 2 second longer reload and a longer aim time is way to much. It's one of the original tanks in the game and with all the new tanks having high armor and reloaders etc it needed some advantages. Now it's just slow. Slow aim time, long reload and slow moving. Not cool WG.

WG really love to nerf low tier tanks even if they're totally not op. For example: elc bis, M41 bulldog, hellcat, tier 6 and 7 ebrs, yet those totally op tanks take them years to nerf it...

Why did WG change this tank? Simple, too many “Free to play” players like myself could play this tank at tier 7 and hold their own against tier 8 tanks, you could even be a PITA to the tier 8 power creeped Premium HTs. I’ll bet their data showed too many FTP guys enjoyed it, and lots of tier 8 Pay To Win noobs complained about it… As a FTP player I guess I’m getting what I pay for LOL

i would say currently the highlight of the american heavies tech tree line is the T32 it feels amazing and the gun is so stable that it almost feels like an strv td when you move or turn. Not that accurate, but the bloom barely changes

It was my favorite tank of all my tanks, back in a day when there was chat for both teams i had battle on Erlenberg when I holded the whole flank alone, one hull down T29 vs dying half of enemy team and someone from enemy team wrote "KILL THE FUC.. T29!" I need to frame that phrase :D

I just got me the American Vehicles and was happy with stock T29 and the free T71DA. That hurt alot that one day finding P44 Pantera in garage with rammer removed.

The T-29 already had the lowest DPM of any tier 7 heavy, now it's really a slug. The changes to the M103 were really a nerf though sold as a buff--I just sold it, it's not worth finishing the grind even though top gun and engine were unlocked. Not going to bother with the E5 as that sucks by all accounts. Might buy the T32 as that is the only tank of the line that was truly buffed and drop the M-103 crew in it, or just put them in the T-29 and throw bounty or bond equipment in to see if it helps. While it seemed like a good update at first, overall some pretty discouraging changes, the Italian TDs and T-29 worst of all. I've ended up playing more arty than usual and focusing on the Italian TDs.

I went all the way up to the E5 just before they nerfed it, the M103 never worked for me. After a while I sold both the E5 and M103 and just played the T29. Looks like I’ll be buying the T32 again, I have a good crew for it.

DPM means nothing when the gun won't hit anything anyway. T29 can still do what it always was doing. Sat hulldown (if able to get position before destroyed) and wait enemy to flank it.

this feels just like when the italian meds got nerfed. Literally no one asked for it, sure the tank was good, but far from being broken, and now it's so bad in comparison to it's big brother T32. When not too long ago it was completely the other way around. Can't we have both tanks be decent, or is that too much to ask?

Tiger has a strong gun in a shitty platform. you can still go hulldown and juck the lower tiers and fight against tier 8s easily as we saw in this vid. i see o problem in balancing op tanks. if they nerfed the pen or mobility i would be more upset personally. balance is important imo

WELL WHEN I FIRST started got me that new t80 tier 4 and next thing your getting 1 shot by that dam t29 that day it did feel op god it used to be a three tier mm and that same t29 that 1 shot my tier 4 in his next game could have got 1 shot by a tier 10

Back in 2014 when I started out and joined a clan, it was in my early grinding days and was advised to get to the T29 because it was a good tank and wouldn't regret it. So eventually got it and this was when I think the 'ears' were still part of the hit box, so a target for the enemies to shot them. They they took its 'ear' out of the hit box and then the turred changed completely.It was always my favourite to use in TB's and even won 'The King of the hill'.......once...😀 The onwards to the T32 (not as good except smaller profile), T34 on to the M103 and stopped at the T110E5. Also went tup the German HT's and Russian HT's plus TD's, then 2016 became bored with the introduction of new HT's like the Chrysler K and KF, Anyway now it seems the T20 has been neutered a bit so perhaps nut as fun as it used to be....

That tank gave me hell with missing fully aimed shots. If they changed RNG for it, it is worth aiming longer BUT HIT TARGET instead missing... I've started playing it with 90mm long time ago, so at least can shoot multiple times (and missing less)

Did they also drop the pen, why would you need more gold now? I thought they nerfed the gun handling but not the pen. They buffed the toxic 90mm used in tournaments and by P2W players but nerfed the 105 because regular players use it and can do well with it. I suspect now many people will never finish the grind through the T-29 to the tier 8s and above.

The bad gum handling makes hitting weakspots (where I suppose that everyone aims) less reliable. Using gold makes those weakspots bigger, allowing you to compensate the handling and accuracy

I think the tank is still epic but with the 90mm gun. 2500 base dpm at tier 7 is crazy - it's more like tier 9 levels. 105mm though is done, probably good only for ppl who wish to grind through T29 line and sell if afterwards.

I used to view the old T29 like the old T57 when it was top dog, I loved playing them but I didn't play them much, felt a bit like cheating. My WR in them is way above my average WR, if you know how to play them and what not to do, they were just head and shoulders above everything else at tier.

Of course the classic tanks had to get nerfed so you’d have to press the 2 key to try to pin +2 mm heavies. Good luck since you need about 260 pen to reliably pen their weak spots

I'm grinding it at the moment, and haven't used gold once, haven't come up against anything that normal ammo can't take care of, including the vipera. It's more of a accuracy issue, as it will take a few shots to hit the spot sometimes

I created new account and came to Wot to play mostly T29. Those nerfs are to much. Nerf to aim time and DPM was brutal enough then they make it even more sluggish. T29 was always strong but only in obvious situation, open field or puch for punch it often lose having low DPM. Tank was perfectly balanced. Big fat middle finger WG 😑

90 mm full gold all the way, even before 105 nerfs. Faster reload makes up lower alpha - also funny when people try to rush you thinking you have the big gun but find their HP disappears.

The armor is t29 bigest advantage but the 105mm gun was the second best thing. It has the alpha to trade against many of the other tanks. It has the penetration that is good enough to not spam full gold even in tier 9 games. It had acceptable dpm and gunhandling. I just want to drop it here that i have about 12000 games played over 6 years or so and just over 1000 games in t29 and another 1000 in a kv2. Witch of my favourite tanks will be next to have their balls cut.

T29 turret was already quite OP in tier 7 and they fucked it up again. Anything with around 210 pen can go through the cheek, and the commander hatch was also a weak spot. Nowadays good luck even with tier 10 tanks.

Tier for tier it was the best tank in the game for me and my play style. I had a 59% win rate in it with over 600 battles. I won’t allow it the disgrace of subjecting it to failure. I will retire it and allow it to maintain its grace. So many new tanks in the game, the T29 needed the stats it had in order to remain relevant. 75% of my matches in this tank were T8 matches. This tank didn’t need nerfing. If it was a Russian tank, they would have left it alone. The American tanks have few heavy tanks that are competitive. Thanks WG. Another reason to leave the game.

It's not playable now. Plying it while it is frustrating? Why? What for? Smaller peepee is playable only with gold only, so - killed for next few updates until they buff it again. This is what they do - they never balance, they throw tanks in extreme changes.

I had just unlocked the M6 when the changes happened. While the M6 became a tank that was no longer a 'grind', the T29 hasn't been that way. Once you could hold your own against higher tiers, and have more good games than bad, but now, it's just average. Still great when hull down, with all those tier 8"s shooting gold at you, and it does nothing, it just takes longer to reply to them. I hope the good things I've heard about the T32 are true...

tank is still op. I played today made easy 2.8k in 2 games and marked the tank in 115 games. Its strong even against t9 tanks in certain situations. Nerf was not needed but it is what it is.

absolutely t29 is shit now. The gun accuracy is meh before but after the nerf is even shittier. Aim time sucks.now. Turns like frwaking battleship more. I had a game that i need to do trades but enemy snap shotted me everytime. He high rolled me extra, i miss 3 times and I low rolled of 230 damage the damage of in 105mm gun. but: how often you are in a T7 or lower battle? 90% +2 MM, and nearly any T9 and many T8 pen. the Tower like its paper. it´s a nice tank, but bevor 1.18 you could push but now its a drive to a pos. stand, wait and hope. my opinion and not my playstyle for this tank

It's dead. The T29 was really the only Gem in the old American heavy line up. After this patch the only tank in that line up that's even worth the grind is the T32 and no reason to go higher as the M103 and T110E5 are still pretty much dogshit at their tiers. The Nerfs to the T29 were not needed and nobody was asking for them. Now just one more awful shit tier 7 that will take gold to skip for some poor sucker. Also Skill who really gives a shit about the 90mm on this tank. It's a fucking joke that only works when you spam nothing but gold out of it. Sorry don't feel like losing 80K silver every match on ammo.
