I just did the new storyline quests and it really show a lot, Daigo may not be an ally because if you look where Daigo's underground workshop is at he has a lot of machinery and cursed masks, with a picture giving Jade a cursed mask which could mean that Daigo was trying to do something to her, trapping her, because when you head back to Kendo theres no Jade, Jade is stuck in spirit realm as Kendo quotes and Kendo talks about the spirit realm and how Jade being there is bad and how Daigo may not be an ally. Edit: If you check the expertise Daigo is the only one with damaging people with these cursed masks or they could just be the bonus weapon of the expertise quest since Epic added more weapons

Something players havent found out is in the most recent update they added a secret area where they show the process of making the fire and void masks and it shows a spirit sized cage. Maybe thats why we only have air and water spirits
