I went through the same process and chose many similar options. The cost of my California came out at £86,000 - before the most recent price increase which would have put it over £90k. I’ll say that again, £90,000 for a VW van! It was at that point that I saw sense and chose to do a conversion on an older van. That allowed me to get exactly what I wanted for less than 1/5 of the cost. I was also concerned that values will collapse when the international holiday market re-opens and couldn’t afford £90k anyway!

Agreed on the price especially for a VW Van.... we mainly went with it as we hired one a year or so ago and fell in love with the layout... but understand your choice. At the end of the day as long as we enjoy it to the max and make good memories then i think worthwhile..

@@andybearyaki completely agree - money, like time is a highly “relative” commodity. I couldn’t justify (or afford!) £90k, you - and obviously many others can - as the Cali’ is still the best selling camper in the world. I wish you nothing but happiness and good times in your camper and hope that we’ll meet on the road one day! Also, if you do see a T5 combi trying to look like a T6.1 Cali’ broken down at the side of the road one day, please stop. It could be me. Best Wishes. N
