Hi Kev I really want to buy these magnetic cupboards but the website is not very easy to follow. Do they deliver to UK ok? There doesn’t seem to be a UK option on their website. Thanks in advance. Great videos btw. All the best Chris

Hey Chris glad the videos help, yes was easy but you will need to pay UK Tax on this was prob £50+ so just keep that in mind. I use these all the time and i dont think i could keep the van as tidy without them super handy for snacks, tissues etc. The website if you use Google should auto translate and they do deliver to UK, this is a snippit from their terms (5) The following delivery area restrictions apply: Delivery takes place to the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom. All the best and happy camping

Hi Kev, I've got a slightly different camera, but need to pull the cable through just the same… I'm struggling with feeding the rods from the front to the rear. What I can see, there is a channel above the lights, and one to the right of it against the metal. Which path did you rod through, and did you encounter obstacles? I've tried to feed through both routes, and both seem to be blocked in my situation, and can't work out if I'm doing something wrong, or a bit of brute force and perseverance is needed. Your thoughts would be helpful. Josh

Thanks for the tutorial. I believe there is a risk of damaging the controller if it's connected to the panel before the battery. If the panel has high output it will burn out the coils as there's nowhere for the energy to go.

That’s an amazing installation video Kev! Definitely thinking of getting one for myself! does the solar panel have any influence on your batteries if you are plugged in by cable (on a camping for example) at the same time? Is there a risk of too much charge?
@andybearyaki
@andybearyaki Жыл бұрын
HI Tom, no no risk of overload, the cali system is quite clever as well as the mppt controller will reduce input based on battery voltage. I have never had an issue with the solar set up so hope that helps your decision :) you wont regret it especially when you leave it sitting for a while outside no risk of battery damage if solar is always keeping them topped up :) Happy Camping.

A lot of people have commented on the storage. I don’t think it looks too bad. Get rid of the impractical drawer inserts to start with! The space under the parcel shelf is narrower but deeper than the Ocean. Rear visibility looks poor to me as the aircraft locker hangs pretty low down. I think the designers had the remit that they MUST make both doors accessible, hence the pullout kitchen design. I subscribed to your channel. You have some interesting videos. 👍

Hey Steve i think this is only perm when you use that front 12v as it is always on. However i have had no issues with the battery drain as long as you tap bottom left of screen to turn only the screen off when you get in and out for rear view screen while driving. - if you dont need the rear view screen on then it will just record in the background and not really drain your battery down.

Hey great news, i followed the instuctions in terms of default settings but i have used by own settings for the output (i.e. links directly into the ecoflow from the 12v socket driven from the MTTP controller) i used a cut off if the battery gets to a certain voltage to ensure the van leisue is never run down. User defined algorithm 1: OFF when Vbatt < Vlow, ON when Vbatt > Vhigh. (Vbatt being your desired threshold) link to the victron help pages. www.victronenergy.com/media/pg/Manual_BlueSolar_MPPT_75-10_up_to_100-20/en/configuration-and-settings.html#UUID-e66362d1-a266-4b2d-4b64-2c478629c072

Done the same with a Mini. Powers the kettle, hairdryer, microwave and the hot water heater in my California Exclusive. Easy enough power for 2 nights with an additional 36V EScooter Lipo battery, plugged into the solar port to expand the capacity with another 700Wh.

thanks i probably didn't give the little mini enough time, i traded it back in and paid a little more for the delta 2. It kept tripping on my air fryer but might not have set the thing up right in the settings who knows but glad you are enjoying yours.
@robertdon777
@robertdon777 Жыл бұрын
@@andybearyaki yes I think max is 1400W with 1800 surge, so you need to be careful what appliances you can run. Water Heater is 600W so that's easy. Kettle was hard to find a good one, but we found a Philips one rated at 1500W but actually only draws 1300W. Delta 2 is a better unit but just too big to fit in our lower cupboard area. Those eScooter batteries are a really cheap way of expanding your Delta too, 1/4 the price of EcoFlows expansion unit.

Hey George - no rattles from the units themselves however i need either some fabirc lining the bottom or stronger magnets as cups will move around a little otherwise. Why not charge from Solar direct to the Ecoflow?, then run the Eco flow to the EHU of the van. This way you will be using the full quicker charge from the Solar to the Ecoflow, which tops up your OnBoard Leisure Battery and also provides 240V/12V to the existing Vans sockets. The Ecoflow would fully charge in about 7hrs from the 200W solar on a decent day, and no need for the Solar controller/wiring etc. The EcoFlow already has all that built in.
@andybearyaki
@andybearyaki Жыл бұрын
Hey, the main reason was to keep both the leisure batteries topped up so they don't go too low. The ecoflow top up works great as a secondary power source. I tried using the ecoflow to plug directly into the van so can use all the internal plugs etc which worked a treat to boil kettles and top up both leisure batteries if they get to low on a weekend away without having to run the engine.

Yes you can but only if you have something like an ecoflow or similar powerbank with some solar to help top it back up. The heater uses about 400w/500w on low setting so can last a good few hours running but it uses less once it gets to temp, although in the top it doesn't hold the heat well so is pretty much constant if you are in very cold temps.

Hi Kev. Can I ask another question about the dash cam you installed. I managed to fit mine recently thanks to your helpful video. My question did you hard wire yours in the end and if you did how do you test if it’s still working when the ignition has been turned off but it’s still being fed electric from the constant 12v supply. Also did you have any issues with the auto door locking when moving off. I’ve activated the setting in the infotainment centre but still can get it to work.
@andybearyaki
@andybearyaki Жыл бұрын
Hey Rob. No still hooked up to the front 12v socket. If you hard wired or using the 12v to test it working you just need to press the on off button on the dashcam mine is touch the screen bottom left this will turn on the screen so you know it is working (if you're using the same dashcam). The door locks question I take it you mean child locks? There is a button on the drivers door you press to lock doors while driving.
@robpoland2680
@robpoland2680 Жыл бұрын
Hi Kev. I mean the self locking as you drive away it’s suppose to lock all the doors at 9 mph just can’t get mine to work. I have the halo view dash cam which is slightly different to yours I think. I’ve hard wired mine so it has a live feed to it all the time so if someone bumps you in the supermarket let’s say it records it. I’ve tap my camera when the ignition is off but it doesn’t wake. I used to be good at this stuff when I was younger.
