Most people use the small trees mod because otherwise the trees obstruct the map, otherwise pros will use certain mods to visualize castle/tower range and the map grid. Definitely add the small trees mod if playing multiplayer, otherwise you're playing at a big disadvantage

Not at all. Mods do nothing other then a visual aid. Some prefer big trees, others small. All other mods behave in a similar way. Play as you like and enjoy.

I spent a few weeks throwing matches to tank my ELO (not too hard tbh) so I could get in games where I didn't feel like I was tryharding all the time, but I just ended up facing up against either people who were completely inept, or way better than their ELO would seem to imply. Makes it way harder than I expected to truly get to ground-level ELO.

Technically yes he's smurfing. But if you want to see for yourself how hard it is to get down to bottom barrel elo that's the way to do it. I'm a noob who's played 6 of my 10 matches (1 win against another noob) and I'm only down to 928. The win was close but all the loses were absolutely deserved. No chance at all.

I need to finish my 10 placement games so I can one day show up on low elo legends. I don't know this, but I expect to end up somewhere in the 6-700 range at least for now until I get better at multi-tasking. RTS is just a different animal.
