Thanks for the review of both of these items, side by side like this. I was looking at both items, but wasn't exactly sure what the pros & cons of each were. Thank you very much for posting this out there!! 👌

Great video, OK, these things look cool. I myself have a 601, the battery version. The biggest problem is the very slow short circuit tester. By the time I hear the beep on the circuit board when I'm troubleshooting, I've got 50 new grey hairs on my head. There really are much better ones on the market. Are the 601s and 602 also so incredibly slow?
@TonyAlbus2 ай бұрын
i find that they are a bit faster if you set it first yoursef to continuety test manual mode.
@tomcruiser24072 ай бұрын
@@TonyAlbus Thanks, I thought that too, so that all the automatic stuff is turned off. It responds faster but still terribly slowly. I once tested a plug and a coaxial cable at home. I actually had to strip a little bit of insulation before I could finally test it; a short pulse was not enough for this measuring device. With my Unit-61E, the smallest moment of contact is enough to generate a pulse and thus a sound. That's a real shame but I think that's just because of the price.

Is there a way to calibrate this meter? rM601s but also for safety concerns don’t use this meter while charging or passthrough charging it’s dangerous.

Not sure that is possible by user maybe ask Kaiweets support. For safety on high voltages maybe buy a non smartmeter from a respectable brand

I thought I had a Kaiweets, but I can;t find it! Maybe I have Aneng clones. Anyway, at a hamfest I bought a Heathkit IT-22 capacitor tester and a Fluke 8030A VOM. Both very clean and cheap enough. Do you have any experience with either? I know you covered two Flukes in the 8000 series before. 73

Hi Barry, nice finds! i don't know the Heatkit myself, i do own the little fluke 8030A have not played with it yet .. it will come on one of the Fluke friday editions.

Hello sir, I have just bought the km601s model measuring device. After I put the device on, it starts in smart mode. The probes show instantaneous resistance values as if I were measuring from a point, even though I have not touched any point, or they show values as if I were measuring AC. This situation bothered me, should I be worried?? By the way, when I touch the probes of the device to resistance - dc voltage or ac voltage, it gives correct results.
@TonyAlbus9 ай бұрын
Hi, good question. that is normal.. open probe will go to resistance, as open is just as high resistance. when you touch the probes, it starts to pickup voltage from radiation or induction from the body and will try to measure that. when you touch both probes, it prob will go back to resistance and show a few Mega Ohms

I don't know, probably I'm just old skool, but this is just too "flashy" for my taste. And that auto-select, hmm, I don't think I would need that. The 602: The screen is big, but the half of it is used to display where the leads are + that top range/function big part. Doesn't add much information. On both, they could just display the selected function and range, instead of that big half circle pallet. That would be much technical. Now it looks just like a toy. The display has nice big contrast, but yeah, no 🙂Form-factor/size is nice though. I have looked it up, the accuracy for DC is +/-0.5% +3dig, and for AC it is +/-0.8% +3dig. Those 10 000 counts lose their meaning. For example is you have 1.000VDC (0.992 - 1.008), and 1.000VAC (0.989 - 1.011). You could just as good have just 1000 counts like 0.99 - 1.01VDC, and 0.99 - 1.01VAC. But okay, as they state on the site: "With this smart digital voltmeter, you can solve industrial, vehicle, and household electrical problems"., it is not a Lab instrument of course.

I have yet to see a "smart" multimeter that actually will do at least 90% right. At least it beeps with the diode test which is a good thing. And, as usual, the bargraph is just a gimmick since it has exactly the same update speed as the digits themselves.
@TonyAlbus Жыл бұрын
i see them as Electrical testers with digits display, not for high level electronics.. Yes correct, the bar has same sampling as the digits. For basic stuff or a starters meter its nice.
@jonfreeman9682 Жыл бұрын
The bargraph can be useful to see quick oscillations or changes but otherwise useless. Still looks cool though.
@TonyAlbus Жыл бұрын
@@jonfreeman9682 Yes but it only makes sense if the sampling from the bar is faster then the digits. on this meter that is not noticable faster.
@steveh87249 ай бұрын
@@TonyAlbusI don't agree. Regular pattern of changes will be easier to spot with the bar graph. Not sure how often that would actually be useful however.
