LOL. Not that you needed it, but you are very welcome. More importantly, thank you for allowing me to use the still image from your informative video.

This was a very comprehensive and detailed review, thanks! I would not have thought an Ali Express meter wouldn't have been decent, but it appears to be.

Thank you very much. Yes, a decent meter at a decent price for light-duty hobby work.

Thanks, Lee. Yes, up next is Part 2 of the Game Gear refurb, and I hope Part 2 of the CoCo2 repair, but still having issues getting it to work.

@@MindFlareRetro I was wondering when you would get back to the CoCo2. I'll try and ask you about it if you make it to Kitchener on Sunday.

@@DaveBall54 Hi Dave. I have a ton of video shot for Parts 2 and 3 of the CoCo2 repair. That said, it's still not fixed. I do need some help with this one. Yes, let's chat if I make it to World of Retro Computing in Kitchener this weekend.

Hi dear. Plz if u can tell ncv accuracy for wires inside wall??
@MindFlareRetro Жыл бұрын
Hello. I no longer have the multimeter to test this. If I remember correctly, the NCV function was rather basic. I would suggest looking at a dedicated NCV pencil tool best accuracy. Here are some examples from Aneng, s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DC3QsxX.

Where did you get the resistor reference tester? super cool

Hi. I picked it up on AliExpress. It cost me about $10 CAD with shipping. I think the cost might have dropped from when I bought mine... s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DFqWgzL

A new video, hooray! Seems like a decent meter, and it's not a bad price as well. Thank you for the review, MFR!

Thanks LB. Yeah, it's surprising accurate for the price. I definitely wouldn't do any high voltage, high amperage work withbit, but for the hobbyist's bench, it's a winner.

Hi Mr so many people are screen protector plastic take out trow away why protector is screen protect or damage please answer to me TQ
@MindFlareRetro Жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks for your question. I believe the protective film that is on the screen when you first open the box is there primarily to protect the screen during manufacturing and shipping and it is intended to be removed before use. It is not the clearest film and has a few bubbles trapped under it, so it might be the best "screen protector". You certainly could leave it in place if it doesn't bother you, or I suppose you could cut a true screen protector meant for a mobile phone to fit the meter's screen.

Hello, I would like to ask, I am making a PCBs and I am interested if it is possible to use this multimeter to measure capacitors from 100 pF to micro, resistances from 1K to 1M and if this multimeter will not destroy my board where all the components are very sensitive, for example SHTC sensor max 1.8V. Overall, I'm wondering if it's possible to use this multimeter on smt PCB, it doesn't have to be that accurat. Thank you.
@MindFlareRetro Жыл бұрын
Hi. Well, in my opinion any multimeter, if used properly, should not damage any components, even humidity and temperature sensors. This meter can measure all common components with varying of degrees of accuracy. The full specs are available on the manufacturer's website, www.gvda-instrument.com/electronic-instruments/digital-multimeter/digital-multimeter-9999-counts-for-automotive.html. I hope this helps.

Do the conduction test no on the auto mode only on direct set on conduction is much faster on originals probs.

Unfortunately the multimeter doesn't seem to be able to measure ESR of capacitors. That would be very useful feature for repairs. I know multimeters usualy can't measure ESR, btu this is a smart multimeter.
@MindFlareRetro2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are absolutely right. ESR measurement would make this an exceptionally smart meter. Maybe GVDA would consider your great idea for a future model.
