Nice review. I have the EBC A20. For those that don't know the EBC-built in charger (or for the EBC B20H that means the ability to add a charger for cycle testing) EBD-discharge only Also pay attention to the specs of the ZKE product you are buying. The A20 allows you discharge up to 20A but the max wattage is 80W IIRC. The EBD A20H does the same 20A but you can do up to 200W IIRC. I can't remember what the max voltage is for discharging but I know for charging on the A20 its related to the power supply you are using. The one that came with my ZKE tester was broken so I bought a Belkin and am very glad I did. It's the one upgrade I would highly recommend along with a 4 wire battery holder. ZKE's battery holder is $8 if you look hard on Aliexpress, don't pay $14. Then there are the BF20's which can support much higher current. The ZKE does 20A continuously just fine for me though. The A20 uses GX16 connectors with 3 pins. Two are for current with the larger silicone wire split between the pins and the third pin being for the smaller voltage sensing wire. If you want to, buy a set of GX16 3 pin male (I think) plugs and make your own connectors for the battery holder you buy and other forms of connecting like ring terminals. I'd also suggest stepping up to 10AWG for the current carrying wire but 12AWG works fine as well. Would love to see you teardown the A40L next to one of the A10 or A20 models and compare them. I've seen inside the A40L and it's shockingly simple...to the point where I want to reverse engineer it...if I could get my hands on the boards from ZKE possibly. Or a schematic

О да! Это очень любопытный универсальный прибор для работы с батарями. Спасибо за подробный обзор. За эту цену нет аналагов с темиже возмоностями. Для 18650 (и другие размеры) есть удобный держатель от этого же производителя.👍

Thank you, yes i agree, for sure for its price. I will have a look at those holders you say, thanks!

Thanks for the review, I have ordered one of these. I would have loved to see one in action which you appeared to do from 22:05 to 22:53. However those 50 seconds are speeded up so much it's impossible to see whats happening. Even with the speed in the KZbin interface reduced to its max of x0.25. Still gets a thumbs up.

HI thank you, i made a second video about the modifications i did, there is also some usage in the video and some screenshots of decharge and charge

Thank you for the detailed review, Tony. Nice looking unit, too bad the user interface is a bit clunky. With touch screens being so inexpensive and reliable, I'm surprised they didn't go that route. The software control function looks like the best way to operate the unit. A video about the data available from say a discharge/charge cycle would be interesting. "Pb" is the symbol for lead, so in the charge profiles Pb is probably for lead-acid batteries. Regards, David

Thank you David, yes i talk about the interesting feather is not the load but the charger and then i just don't show any graphs... yes that was silly. then that will come later maybe in the mod video when i try to improve the terminals and maybe a better encoder too.. totaly agree with you.

These things are becoming seriously interesting for someone like me who wants to program their own firmware for these to do whatever it should.

The firmware update does not work on myne. After i switch it ON while holding the ON button, the LCD is blank and the firmware update can't detect the TTl cable.. But it can normally when normal operation.. it only not work for firmware update. I have followed all your instructions. I get "RUNTIME ERROR "383", 'Text' properly is read only" I also updated the software from 1.8.5 to 1.8.8 My device is the EBC-B20H

Maybe the EBC-B20H does not have the firmware update option.. as you say, The communication works for normal use, so the connection is good.

If you ever find a way to get the CSV file converted to a usable way let me know.. for not the generated file they make is pain in the ass to use because it require TONS of modification. For exemple, the volt and current and time are expressed in the same column!!. this really suck! I wodl love to know someone that can make a file converter to rectify the CSV file into a 1 column being the time, the second column being the voltage, the next being the current , then capacity, then Wh EDIT: Ok found the solution. Files MUST BE SAVED IN .DAT and not in csv!

What setting did you use for Li-ion batteries ? I didn't see an option
@TonyAlbusКүн бұрын
Hi, i am using the latest firmware, that i show in the video, but if your setting does not have Li-ion, mine prob also does not have, and i miss read it while i was talking and scrolling fastly. i do not remember by heard to be honest and i do not use it much other them with a 12v leadaccid
