Forest is divided into Core zone & Buffer zone. Core zone is the dense forest and density of animals is higher whereas the Buffer zone is the area around the Core zone where forest and animal density is lower. Valparai is a town inside the Anamalai Tiger Reserve. So buffer zone in and around Valparai you are looking is the area where animals roam occasionally for food and water.
