Ingredients:
Cauliflower
Besan / Chickpea flour / Kadalapodi
Kashmiri red chilly powder
Egg (Optional)
Turmeric powder
Water
Salt
Oil
Steps:
Cut the cauliflower florets into thin slices with the stem.
Add Kashmiri red chilly powder, a pinch of turmeric powder, egg and salt to cauliflower and mix well.
Make a medium thick paste of besan adding some salt and water in a separate bowl.
Add this to the cauliflower mixture and mix well.
Heat oil in a pan to deep fry.
Gently drop the florets to the hot oil and fry till crispy.
It took me around 10 minutes for each batch.
You may also fry some curry leaves and dry red chillies and add it to the fried cauliflower.
Enjoy the crispy cauliflower fry warm as a snack or starter or as a side dish for fried rice or hot rice.
Note: If the cauliflower is not fresh, boil water and add a pinch of turmeric powder and some salt. Add cauliflower and mix well. Drain the water after 2-3 minutes.
