I like how she says TAMIZH and not Tamil...a lot of the North actresses can't ever pronounce that 'ZHAA' sound which is prevalent in Tamizh and Malayalam... Good job adapting Taapsee! instead of whining like politicians about imposing Hindi everywhere...

Awesome interview. I love the way Baradwaj Rangan delves into the minds of the interviewees & presents deep insights into their psyche - & when that interviewee is someone like Tapsee Pannu, we are left asking for more. Tapsee is always so level- headed , intelligent, passionate about her craft and refreshing. Looking forward to more such interviews by BR with technicians who display similar intensity & passion in their craft. Their perspectives will be interesting.

I feel so sad for outsiders like taapsee, Kangana, sanya.. I can feel the pain why Kangana is raising the nepotism again and again...
@RP.415 жыл бұрын
Sorry to say that Kangana is an opportunist. She plays nationalism card effectively to her advantage.!

@@RP.41 And what is wrong in being an opportunist ? She has to be brutal to get things done. It's a business.

@@sagarthorat9175 by that logic , one cant question nepotism either! Its a business, and they do whatever they can to get a foothold.
@sagarthorat91755 жыл бұрын
@@r.22r so who is stopping them? They can go on making movies with starkids but atleast now the starkids will have it a bit hard. The public will question the nepotism connection. Kangana has done her job. If life was smoother for them, and tough for her, now she has made it tough for them as well. From an outsider perspective She has brought balance in the equation. Now people are coming to watch outsider interviews too and praising them. Unfortunately the women who fought for them, started the anti-nepotism revolution is getting hate now. The outsiders fail to acknowledge her contribution and are enjoying the benefits. Anyways, I think she doesn't care . She's getting good films , meatier roles and also work satisfaction. Also the nationalism card is probably to get massy fans . True liberals like me loved her before for her liberal attitude and love her now as well because of her strategic mind. She's a fighter..
@ikiraw215 жыл бұрын
Nepotism is nonsense term. People who are insiders now were outsiders. There parents worked very hard to reach there. That’s how there kids are reaping benefits. If the kids are not talented or focused they lose their spotlight eg. Uday Chopra, Tanisha Mukerjee. There are many ways to be where you want to be. I always look at the positive side. In any profession, most of the well established people will guide and help their children. Do you agree. Stereotyping and dividing people is waste of time.

I purely watched this because your interviews are always incisive and interesting. I had no interest in Taapsee, I just knew her as that actress from Aadukalam back in the day and didn't even know she was still acting (I don't follow Hindi cinema). But the way you conducted the interview and the way she talks about her work makes me genuinely excited to check out a film (Game Over) that I didn't know existed before this. Always love how you really get into some really interesting topics when you get to interview clear minded people who think deeply about their work. The recent Vijay Antony interview comes to mind (and I haven't seen a single film of his as an actor, though I like his music), and your Madhavan interview is what got me into this channel in the first place. Great job as always.

I've never heard lawyer or doctor kids not getting educated and trained b.c parents have given them job and kids start immediately going to courts or doing surgery and giving medical advice and prescprition. The thought itself is absurd and stupid. How can star kids compare nepotism in their field with other professions whenever this issue is brought out. Also how they are hard working is brought up. Outisiders are also hardworking but it's coincidence that out of 100 or so people star kids auditioned with, they got the film. Star kids has no genuine answers to this issue.

Knowing about nepotism , the universality of it or accepting it doesn't justify it. Nepotism is about systematically, consciously and viciously taking away opportunity and destroying talent.

To be very honest being a south Indian I'll definitely say that south Indian film makers simply wasted her inbuilt talents and made her to act in shitty crap scripts like kanchana and few other films except Aadukalam. This made to choose her path to Bollywood that truly brought out her talents. I'm totally impressed with the couple of movies she did in Hindi. Man she's got an ocean of talent please don't offer her films that will simply suppress her role

If a doctor's influence makes his/her son a doctor (and not anything else, like say a certified MBBS), then that is illegal and ethically wrong. There is a set process for professions like doctor, lawyer, or an engineer that you have to get through to become that. But for acting, it's as easy as calling up friends to set your game up. Nepotism in anything other than show business is ethically wrong, but sadly in show biz: the max you can do is frown upon it! There is nothing wrong with being privileged, but there are artists who don't acknowledge the fact that there is creative responsibility not to do mediocre work ---- which on the other hand is expected from the underdogs to rise to the top where they can be noticed. That's sick! And no one's to blame!
