Wow, very complete comparison Toni, thanks very much! My take home from this and your other videos is basically, if you want a decent device for writing notes doodling, etc. then you might as well save some money and get the S6 Lite (if you can get it for a good price). As far as writing is concerned, the S6 and S6 Lite devices are exactly the same, but the S pen that ships with the S6 Lite is more natural and comfortable to hold and easier to see where you are pointing its tip when using it. Sure, the S6 has a slightly bigger and slightly higher resolution screen - but it has NO advantage regarding the writing experience - rather the opposite. cheers! JB

Ik this is late but yes the s pen magnet holds on too tab s6 lite surprisingly strong. Sometimes its even hard to detach the pen from the tab itself 🤣. And no it wont charge because it doesn't use bluetooth so there's no battery to be charged. Basically the tab wont fall easily and it doesn't need to charge

Quite disappointing that even though the S6 lite is the budget version for an S tab, they do not include replacement nibs with the tab

it's based on emr technology, therefore whichever tablet using emr technology(electromagnetic) can be use with the same pen. However emr was patented under wacom.

It's a very interesting and useful video - thanks! But I think you missed one important information in this clip - new S Pen from S6 Lite does not have replaceable tips. The old one allows you to replace tips once they got used up. You even get in the box spare tips with pliers for removing old tip. So on S6 Lite once your old tip gets used up you have to buy new pen :-( And here comes my question to you - if you still have access to both devices then maybe you could check it - is it possible to charge old S6 pen without having access to S6 tablet? I own S6 Lite and I'm thinking about buying S6 pen as it can last longer but I know it has to be charged inside tablet. But maybe this pen can still work with S6 Lite, without charging,? I noticed you mentioned that S6 pen worked with S6 Lite tablet without any Bluetooth pairing - so it shouldn't require any extra power. I don't have access to S6 tablet so I can't verify this by my own.

@@mypotm3118 I managed to collect some more info on this topic so I share it with you. According to Samsung's support S6 Lite nibs are not replaceable (I confirmed this on my own with them). Is your nib used up? Buy another S Pen. Really great... I wonder why they don't share this "feature" in their marketing docs ;-) Can you use S6 S Pen with S6 Lite tablet? The trick is that Samsung uses Wacom passive EMR technology and any stylus using this technology should work. Passive EMR stylus gets recognised by the tablet without any prior charging. It looks like Bluetooth synchronisation in S6 S Pen is required only for some extra features in S6 tablet. OK, so what will work in S6 S Pen in passive mode (not pre-charged for Bluetooth synchronisation)? Everything what you have seen on above video was performed in passive EMR mode. So people on the net confirm buying and using S6 S Pen as a replacement to original S6 Lite Pen. So, does buying S6 S Pen solves the problem? Well, that's not that simple. S6 owners are only in a bit better situation. Yes, they can replace the nib. Yes, they get spare nibs in the box but that's all Samsung has to offer to them. Samsung does not sell spare nibs in his retail channels. Fantastic, isn't it? :-) Are there any alternative nib sources? Yes, but their quality is questioned by many buyers. Some guy from Reddit faced the same limitation with his S6 Lite, got angry, decided to return his S6 Lite and purchased S6 tablet. His new S6 tablet arrived before he has sent back S6 Lite so he had access to both devices same time. Having removal tweezers from his new S6 he attempted to remove used up nib from S6 Lite S Pen. And... surprise, surprise... it worked! Having removal tweezers you can remove used up nib and replace it with... S6 S Pen nibs. So he disproved Samsung's support claims. I suspect that all Samsung's Pens use the same spec for nibs and the only difference is in nib shape - some of them are sharper, some are more round. Other words - it looks like S6 Lite S Pen nibs are removable and can be substituted with S6 Pen nibs. And that's what I plan to verify by myself soon.

You can use galaxy note10's(smart phone) nips. I've heard they are same one. What i couldn't believe is samsung service don't give you this information and dont sell nips. And there are more plastic like nips, too. So you can change to stronger one. There are grey nips,white nips, black nips. And in my country(Korea) seller said grey is plastic. So that might help you. I'm waiting my 6 lite now. I also worried about nips. I wish you will fine what you need. when I get mine and if there's more info I will tell you. Since I live in Korea I might have more info about samsung product.

i used Lamy Allstar Wacom emr, it works so well, no latency and precise pressure compared to original S6 lite pen, button working as original spen, can be use for all listed device on its website, downside is the size of pen for my small hand. take note if you purchased directly from the store, get your name graved on it ^^

You don't need to. Ever. The battery in the S6 pen is only for using its Bluetooth functions like samsung's air gestures. Functions which the S6 lite does not support in the first place. Drawing with the pen doesn't require batteries at all. The necessary power is provided by the Wacom digitizer that is part of the display.

Yes, all S-pen are active stylus' based on Wacom technology. They are different from a finger input and most apps differentiate this input to ignore everything that is not the pen, or to manage different functionalities like "Erase with finger-write with pen."

Any s pens will work on any Samsung device with spen support (there's a setting to turn this feature on and off on my tab S6) I've used my note 4 S pen on my tab 6 and the other way round the only thing that won't work would be the Bluetooth functions but if you're not bothered about that you could easily buy the new S-Pen to use with your tabs6 I won't because my case is specifically got a slot for the S Pen that keeps it firmly in place if I had to take it out of that I would lose it i no i would lol and I don't find it uncomfortable to write with or draw but the new one does look like a nicer shape

The spen for the tab s6 is a lot more fragile. Where the nib is it's a separate piece. It may break, already gone through two of them. I honestly dont care if it fits on the cover or not. I just want to be able to draw and make my notes with a less fragile pen. I'll probably still buy a pen for the tab s6 but i need the newer one for my art work.

@@abubakarshafiq4939 there's 2 types of s pens for s6 and s6 lite, the one that has Bluetooth... that one you need to charge and then there's that one that doesn't. I'm getting the one that doesn't use bluetooth
