Sugamo is also apparently on the Sakura Toden Railway route, so it's definately on my bucket list... food looks much better than the rainbow sweets at Harajuku. I came to Sugamo on my last visit to Japan - well, I AM a Grandma - "Old ladies clothes" 😃 - but I see now I missed sooooo much that I have to come again. Thank you Satoshi and Shinichi for showing us so many good things. I need to make pancakes - I am craving them now! But SALT ... and PEPPER?!? Ok. I'll try it. I have been able to buy uncooked azuki beans here in Israel but to be honest I haven't a clue what to do with them. We stayed in Sugamo across from the famous temple (line ups to wash statue) 4 times for 2 weeks each time because we LOVED the neighbourhood so much. The new minipaku (sp?) laws have caused many good AirBnB to leave the marketplace otherwise we'd still be staying there! I never did buy the famous Red Underwear for Good Health that more than a few shops sell along that road.

@Mindy's Mom In San Francisco' Japantown, I've had dango with sauce, and the sauce was not jellied, although it was very thick. I think it might be an acquired taste.
