Hey Joshua. So nice to see you doing so well, you sound fantastic. When I was learning the tabla my teacher used to give us this exercise you might find valuable : mute the metronome. Look at the clicks, for a few clicks, then look away. Start with one full taal cycle, then go for more and more. Once done, go back to the metronome, and see how much you've drifted. In my experience, there is absollutely no better way to get your internal metronome in top form.
