People tend to perceive of ZJK as arrogant based on his emotional expressions on the court, yet he seems a surprisingly humbled guy and coach. He is already a great legend of the sport, perhaps only after Ma Long. He can rightfully uses himself and his style as the examples. But we see he almost always credits other players as the motivations for the trainees.

Something else that Larry Hodges points out in his books is that getting better at serving also gives you more opportunity to practice your other skills in a game, because you will be in control from the beginning and set them up. For example, say you have a strong forehand loop against backspin. If you develop a well placed, low to the net, two bounce backspin serve, up to a certain level you’ll get more long pushes in response that you can use to really hone that loop. And when the loops start coming back you can practice your 5th ball attack.

@@nils-and-kat-devine Is this better than a long heavy backspin serve in this situation? I get a lot of drop shots (extreme short pushes) right off the first bounce when I serve half long.

Anybody Knows ZJK actual setup (rubber And blade)? He is my favorite player of all Time and he is becoming my favorite coach too
@bryanwells40632 ай бұрын
His old setup was a viscaria blade, Hurricane 3on forehand, and I believe he switched between tenergy 05 and 64. Nowadays I would recommend 09C or dignics 05

Cute. But this self-taught beginner of 16 months only agree with 0.001% of 0.01% of what he just said about what the 99% of professionals do. Any of his little, or big, fans of his, here, wish to start a dialogue, argument . . . OR pillow fight with me . . . then, proceed at your own risk . . . or enjoyment.

I think if you are a beginner of course yo should focus on other things first like footwork, your loop, etc. I think this advice is more focused on people with an advanced level

Well it does make sense, a good service and 3rd bal puts you way ahead of the game. He even gave Ma as an example. If you don't agree its all good, if any table tennis enthusiast, amature or pro hs to listen, Zjk's words wouldn't hurt compared to yours.
@cuongtkong582 ай бұрын
@@geraldcarino5009 Did my words hurt you in any way or anywhere other than your head- . . . less ego? I did not say "I don't agree," I said I ONLY agree with 0.001% of 0.01% . . . big, big difference. No wonder there are so many wars in the world CURRENTLY. He also claims that your opponent cannot affect or influence the way you serve. Now that, I DON'T AGREE with, 99.9999% of 99.999%. If you want to hear how a beginner CAN . . . I am right here. But, if you are one of those who are just too proud to learn anything from a "beginner," no, a SELF-TAUGHT BEGINNER, then keep watching this Jike guy's videos. He can definitely use some KZbin money for his "mistakes" in life, and not just his ping pong life I am talking about.
