yes we can , that is helpful when we have data of user-email then we can apply filter at data source level and compare cuurent login user with user-email column (coming from data source)

Both are different , user functions will provide the details of logged in user. User filter will filter the data based on user-data mapping

@@pjanalytics Ok so I have a dashboard and created a parameter with hospital names. The user can select Inbound or outbound patient data(also a parameter). The hospital parameter has 7 hospital names (we only need to see inbound/outbound for those 7). if I clic inbound and select a hospital it shows all inbound patients of that hospital. Problem is! each hospital employee are supposed to see inbound/outbound for their location only not the other 6 hospitals. I cant filter the hospital with just a filter bc I use a parameter to define inbound/outbound. I hope u understand
