We appeared on so many TV shows it's hard to remember them all. I have clips from Mike Douglas (the one here on KZbin), Smothers Bros, two appearances on American Bandstand, and the Hy Litt show from Philadelpia. We also did about 4 of Dick Clark's "Where The Action Is" shows, Ed Sullivan (can't find a tape of that), Merv Griffin, and zillions of local teen shows across the nation. Preston

Probably the greatest psychedelic song of all time. Also, one of the first. I didn't hear the song until the late 70's as I was just a baby when it came out but my friends and I listened to it constantly in high school. It was such a different and original sound. And as much as I loved the first album, the 2nd one was even better. Two of the greatest psychedelic records of all time. Also, I have to confess that I absolutely love the song "Onie" which many fans disparage.

Electric Prunes were a great Band of their time, got to meet Preston Ritter about 10 years ago through the Internet, He had contacted me, as I'm a singer in a Local Band here in Edmonton Alberta Canada called Flashback and he saw a video of my Band and he thought that my voice would be great for his band in LA & they needed a new lead Singer & he wanted me to come to LA and play in his Band, unfortunately I was not able to at that time, kind of wish I had as I knew his material as my Band at the time were playing "I Had To Much Too Dream last night". Would have been interesting. RIP Preston

Brings back great memories. The strange guitar sound is a pedal that distorts the sound of the guitar. The used distortion a lot then it was more of a fuzzy sound. This record had an almost laser like tone which was unique. One of my favorites. I was in high school then . Thanks for sharing.

I've listened to this song a 1000 times since I first discovered it round 1980 (I've heard lots of other stuff too). The more I listen to it the more I think it's one of the best Rock songs ever. It's true that The Prunes didn't write it, it was written for them by professional songwriters, hit-makers, but the sound, the feel, the arrangement, the performance are theirs. This is the best video clip of it, thank you so much for posting this. I heard that bassist Mark Tulin died recently, rip

Congratulations! You have happened upon the fact that music techniques affects others, especially musicians. Notice how specific instruments elicit certain overtones, and that sustaining consonant overtone series helps create what you MISTAKE as" original" by whatever player[s] you first heard. Name the instrument date of origin ( or in the case of keyboard, when Johann Bach developed "well-tempered scale, which affect strings, and consequently, the placement of stops/holes on horns and woodwinds. Now, you can understand, with considerable study of not only acoustics, but also cochlea and neural development, that is with only another lifetimewith which to avoid remaining with a narrow temporal and cognitive life, and, instead, a willingness to follow curiosity into the FACT that ALL creativity is borrowing and synthesis.
