The book I have been waiting years for has finally arrived. And it is everything I hoped for! In this video, I choose a pattern from "Tablet-Woven Treasures, Archaeological Bands from the Finnish Iron Age" by Maikki Karisto and Mervi Pasanen and weave it up.

That's a beautiful braid! (It's so even - you must have practiced a lot! I've dabbled in inkle weaving and my last effort definitely should have had more attention paid to my beat. It was a sloppy piece of work!)

LOVE seeing a preview of the book, I had been interested when I stumbled on it but thought it was way tooooo much for me but think I can do it. You showed a little diagram but now weaving (which I understand) - but I assume that the threading and slant of tablets is given and wouldn't sent a beginner over the edge doing a simple one to start. AND would these translate into cotton yarn? (I know, I could spin my own worsted (spin style) but would rather work with cotton when learning. Thanks.
