You don't need to multiply out the exponents, you just use partial fraction decomposition to simplify to 4-1 by canceling

You made a mountain of a molehill. The problem is very simple. (4^4 - 4^3)/4^3 = 4^3(4-1)/4^3 = 4 - 1 = 3 after cancelling 4^3 from both numerator and denominator. Dr. ajit Thakur (USA).

This guy doesn’t teach math. He teaches rote mechanics. If you had been taught the principles of math instead of drone rote mechanics you would realize that you could simply divide each term in the numerator by the denominator and immediately come up with the answer.
