@1946FreddieMercury4 жыл бұрын
I quit playing table tennis several year ago, just play on occasionally now for fun now. I've used tenergy 05 the last few years (tried all of the tenergy range, including the fx versions) but I think I'll try the Dignics 09C, time to switch rubbers anyways. Also got a lot more respect for Dimitrij here (not that I was lacking any), it was fun to see a pro player be so interested in new gear and give their opinions on it.
@tampabaytabletennis Жыл бұрын
This was an excellent comparison with a *WORLD CLASS* player. I believe that Dignics 09c is as revolutionary a rubber as Tenergy 05 was (I wasn't there) and represents a large step forward. The 09c opens up so many different possible shots due to the grippy surface, high throw angle, and the sponge (hard, yet springy when spinning, and has the feeling of holding onto the ball - as Dima referenced). I find it amazing for backhand flicks, although a little challenging to play forehand flicks (maybe more my own limitation). However, anytime you spin the ball with 09c you feel what it is truly capable of. The long trajectory causes some balls to fly long and requires a more closed angle and forward stroke plane when compared to Tenergy 05 (and most other rubbers in my experience). Flat shots like smashes are not nearly as deadly as with T05 and require adjustments, but the ability to keep the ball short or spin from low or wide more than makes up for it IMO. The biggest point presented in this video that made me try 09c and that I agree with, is that less is more with T05, whereas more is more with Dignics 09c. At 50% power, T05 is already unlocking a lot of its power, whereas at 80-90% there is not a linear increase in power/spin but the chance of mistakes increases. Whereas with 09c, 40-50% is a medium fast/spinny ball and 80-90% is an absolute fireball. Sometimes it seems like the harder you hit the ball when counter-spinning, the better chance it has to go in. The durability seems to be incredible as well. I used to think Dignics 09c was the more challenging rubber relative to T05, but I do not believe that is the case anymore. Love the 09c and this review. Thanks!!!

Well, Dan firstly, I do believe dignics09c is a better fit for your game and i believe you d appreciate the rubber more than Tenergy 05. Tenergy 05 is good if you have an amazing technic on short stroke and ability to extract a lot of power in short moves. I ll be honest , I do not see that when you hit the ball with Tenergy on. Dignics on the other hand will force you to use more mechanical power and a longer stroke when you hit (especially in the forehand) It will give you a lot more control and when you give the full stroke it will be winners as well. Consistency-wise Dignics 09c has a tone more control than tenergy than .5 on your ratings. 09c is a killer weapon and I believe a lot of players are realizing it and will realize soon. Both good rubbers but on match points you d rather get more consistency than killer shots that would be off 30 40 percent of the time off the table. Dimitrij is world class and always fun to watch .

So I was surprised that you compared Tenergy 05 with the Dignics 09C. Shouldn't it be Dignics 05 vs Dignics 09C? Like what is more on 09C that could be "lacking" from Dignics 05 that butterfly decided to add the 09C to the dignics series?

I changed to dignics recently and for me it was an absolute game changer. Way better control than with the tenergy series. Absolute beast in service and return. But you need a good and full motion technique. Some players I know really hated the 09c because they rely on the catapult effect from the tenergy series a lot.

@nym0534 жыл бұрын
Anyone knows if it would be a natural progression going from 'Palio CJ8000 Biotech 36-38' to 'Dignics 09c' on both sides? Or is the speed gap to big? If it is, then what would be the middle thing between those 2?
@sajad93844 жыл бұрын
Too big a gap, go for something a bit slower and with more control. The last thing you want is to choose a much faster rubber and then not be able to control the ball on the tabel. Hope this helped :)
@nym0534 жыл бұрын
@@sajad9384 that's exactly why I needed to know how big the gap is, thanks :) Can you come up with any examples of what would be a middle thing? 'Joola Golden Tango PS'? 'Xiom Vega China'? 'Palio Blitz? Something else? 😅
@jawadali-gi1cc4 жыл бұрын
@@nym053 Well it depends on your price range of course, generally the higher quality and the longer the rubber lasts the more expensive it is. I feel that a rubber that is not that expensive (or as expensive as tenergy and dignics) is Rozena. Work your way up through there. Rozena first. Then find the tenergy thats right for you. And move on to the dignics version when you feel comfortable. You may realise that you like the tenergy more than the dignics. If so, then go back to tenergy. But after that stick to the final rubber and that will be the rubber you use. Don't go looking for newer rubbers after that because you will probably be confused because of the constant change in rubber. So I would recommend that you start with rozena. Now it is quite a fast rubber (compared to Tenergy and Dignics), but it also has very good control which works well with the speed. Well that's my advice, Hope it works for you :)
@nym0534 жыл бұрын
@@jawadali-gi1cc I have tried several rubbers in the past, so I know that it has to be hybrid style. Tenergy is non-tacky, that's why I was interested in Dignics 09c. Rozena is non-tacky as well I see. But thanks :)

I like that review. Obviously dima is butterfly sponsored and won't blast a butterfly product but since it is two butterfly products he can be rather open on what he prefers. Still mostly positive stuff of course so not really a neutral review but it's good that dima points out that he prefers the 09c but you really need to actively accelerate the bat and hit the ball tangentially to get most out of the rubber. So it is not really good for rec players who will just block it passively a lot of only hits counter drives with only little topspin. But if you are athletic and like to spin the ball hard it is very good

@jram39174 жыл бұрын
@@mrjek4071 It is great quality, it is even more sticky. It's feels a bit harder than 09c. If you like soft rubbers it might not be for you. But it's very easy to return short and to do counterloops. Of course this is an advanced rubber, reactive to spin so you need to understand what is coming. Once you adjust your stroke to have more forward motion (because it's needed) you will feel you you can put spinier, faster and lower balls on the other side.
